I do think a kid like Joseph is going to make an early impact. Tyler Harrell is super intriguing. Horton was making some noise.

But yeah to your point, lots of question marks.

We don’t have a Rambo yet, not even sure we have a Mike Harley who had a pretty underrated season in 2021 for us

X, Colby, & Harrell are a very nice trio. 2 of them with proven production at some point. It all comes down to the man under center. He has more then enough around him with our schedule. The excuses are over for TVD.

Our offense had far less questions going into 2021, what are you talking about? Lashlee proved in 2020 that he knew what he was doing with our roster. Yes King got injured and TVD stepped in superbly but the offense was expected to put up points. Now to your second point, saying a minimum of a top 25 national offense is not above average though. That’s having a top tier offense, if you said top 50 I would say fair but that’s not what you said. The last part of your post makes no sense…

We were being told for a good minute that King was going to be fine. Agree that many weren’t sold on Rambo though but are we gonna ignore that Harley had a monster year the previous year? We had questions in 2021 just not as many. We were a disaster last year, talent wise and coaching wise.

Agreed. X was such a huge loss for us last year it was just such a snowball of garbage and then TVD getting hurt. It was tough to take anything away from what we saw

I think we can get to a good offense by committee basically and then hopefully someone steps up when the lights come on. Horton is a guy that seems to have the ability as well

until we know for sure that the counters are being increased we need to be selective. kid is obviously good but the skill set is pretty similar to harley and he's not bigger than pope or wiggins. if we burn a counter on a transfer WR it needs to be someone who can win on the outside and on jump balls. i don't see that with him.

Bring him in! Anybody's better than this current duo of Clifford Franklin and Featherstone.

Looking at some of these WRs hit the portal just goes to show how deep some teams are when these guys can’t even get time whereas we’re lucky if we can get a WR to catch a pass that hits them in the chest and knocks their breath away.

I didn’t say he wasn’t good. I only said he’s not my #1 because of what I perceive to be some red-flags. Why can’t he go all out and make a run at the NFL in one of the most prolific offenses in the country? Again, to me, this isn’t KJ needing to leave Buffalo to get more exposure. One could argue he’s in one of the very few places now where he actually could make this run you’re talking about.

All that being said, I’d take him in a heartbeat. Of course. We have a room of kids who couldn’t catch Covid in Century Village. I just like the SJSU kid more. I like the Montana kid more.

Seriously. The top 3 wide receivers on this team can’t catch a 50/50 ball or make an uncontested difficult catch. Plays that the playoff teams routinely make. The only guy that can make a big play is Harley. We need a guy who can make a difficult play.

I think we have to win with out of state WRs to change the narrative. Once we win, and push for a conference title and CFP, local WRs should get on board.

I agree. The local WRs are waiting to see results and we'll still hear the negativity, but we'll be winning. Should be able to get a few of the top dogs in a couple of years. It may take the 2025 class as that's when I believe we push for a conference championship and CFP. The 2023 Freshman will be juniors and the QB room will be seasoned with Brown and Williams.
