2024 Jeremiah Smith 2.0 ,,, Signs with Taint

I didnt say we will. I said we have the pieces. Stark difference. Yall man brain are warped by how bad Gattis was. Question, was the 2021 offense so much more talented than this one? Im confident we have a better OL, probably deepers backfield and going into the season we had all kinda questions about the WRs

I’ll go out on a limb and say this isn’t planned by the staff, but rather by OSU/SFE.

Coming out of this weekend and next weekend there’s going to be a ton of momentum and excitement in this class. A kid like this COULD get swayed to at least decommit and watch the season play out.

OSU has to know this is Mario’s time to shine and would like to keep their prized recruit from being around all of the positive Miami feels (don’t know a better phrase, sorry).

They had to work really hard to make the visit this weekend even happen. They understand what’s going on down here…

Ehhhh, reread your own post, it was more aggressive than that when you use the qualifiers you did. Particularly the one where after you state we have a chance at a national top 25 offense at minimum, where with the new OL there is no excuse. Brah, we have decent talent on offense but it ain’t that good yet. Most of the best talent on this team are true freshman.

My only pushback to that was that it was going to be a 1 day rushed OV which for OSU/SFE would have been ideal for him to burn his OV like that. The flip side is they get him to push it back now and maybe it never happens.

We have the pieces to do it. Its that simple. Take it how u want it.

The optics for that is like a “pity ****”.

That’s what it looked like to me from the outside. It’s meant to signal that Miami isn’t a real contender, but we’re paying respects to the effort of the local school.

All kids get unlimited visits now..

That one day OV was bull. Wasnt it midweek as well? Glad its cancelled whoever did it. Made zero sense. And i doubt he was gonna be swayed by whomever. He could be the one doing the swaying.

But schools don’t. I get recruiting him to the end but we also need to sniff out the bs. Having said that, Mario and recruiting is not an area in going to question.

To clarify, I’m not saying that he’s coming here or anything of the sort.

I’m just looking at this from the SFE/OSU angle. I wouldn’t want a flaky kid around a program with national recruiting momentum.

We did that last year with the kid who was trying to recruit for Louisville (at least I think it was Louisville). We sent him home mid-visit.

I view the social media posts as different. But if Smith tried to pull some nonsense on a Miami OV, send him and all five of his stars home immediately.

I also think that with Smith committed out-of-state, he needs to maintain certain reassurances with Taint, at least until he's ready to make an alternate decision. Doesn't have to be disrespectful, but we can understand it if the kid needs to take his time to be sure.

Now, the Hogtown stuff? That's some funny ****. Some of the Gaytors are swearing that Jeremiah Smith is a silent to them. Maybe he's just a kid who finds it hard to say "**** no".

You’ve also been advocating to cut it and move on. I agree with you on that front. Maintain a relationship, give a shot, but the second these kids act like idiots, cut bait and remove yourself from the conversation.
