Goldens said this kid wouldn't need surgery.

Just read that he had surgery earlier this month and can barely walk.

Anyone know if he'll be ready to go?

We gonna need this kid next year, I refuse to believe we will have at the University of Miami a starting d end who records zero sacks for two years

Honestly he needs to redshirt and get healthy for once. Kid has been hurt every year since his jr year of HS.. Redshirt him get him stronger and he should be ready to go as a stack end in 2014 at a solid 285.. Saying that UM defintely needs Bond,Kamalu, and AQM to get in to generate a pass rush..

I don't think Jelani's the answer my man.
Look I'm not expecting an all American performance but I expect a starting d end to get at least one sack

+1 at Jandman's comment. I don't think he is healthy enough or strong enough to be a contributor. Having said that I don't think any freshmen is going to come in and sure up a spot. Shayon's inability to get any type of pass rush and pursuit of the QB drives me crazy too, but the kid is a sure tackler and holds the point of attack on the edge.

We need guys like Holliet to step up and be the guy that rushes the passer and gets sacks. Kid is huge and looks the part which is why I think redshirting kids, especially on the OL & DL is so important. Essentially it is Dwayne's freshmen years so I expect him to take time to adjust to the speed and strength of the game but I think he will be a good one. sure looks the part.

Jelani Hamilton had his knee scoped... If you really want to call that surgery than yes he had surgery. Please keep in perspective Jelani was a true freshman last year and is the same guy who ran NC States QB out of the back of the end zone on the safety. Lets chill a little on the Jelani talk. I'm not saying he's going to be a one man wrecking crew but by his JR or SR season he'll be a solid contributor.

It's literally called Arthroscopic Surgery.

The point is that football players have been known to play in NFL games less than two weeks after getting scoped. Not a major procedure relatively speaking.

Getting your wisdom teeth pulled is " oral surgery" , just because surgery is in the description doesnt mean its a big deal. Getting a scope is nothing , literally come back in a couple weeks.

Yup, for a 19 year old kid, its a minor speed bump but still hopefully it doesn't start a trend. Wasn't too thrilled about the shape he was in when he got here but he looked like he had put in a lot of work. Hoilett is going to surprise some folks I think but Hamilton should provide steady minutes in his career. Not sure he is the type that can log a ton of sacks though like Hoilett. Long way to go though for both obviously.
