From the Miami Herald today:

"Tweet of the day from ESPN's Jay Bilas, after the NCAA announced it will restore scholarships for Penn State: 'NCAA receptionist: Uh, Dr Emmert, Donna Shalala on line 2. She'd like to know how you decided on Penn State twice before Miami once.'"

I wouldn't be surprised to see PSU finish serving their time and be back at 85 schollies before we hear a peep from the NCAA. You'd think they'd want to get it over and done with so both parties can move on (them included)... but it's the NCAA.

Nothing moves quickly unless it involves reinstating an athlete from the SEC or coming out to nix each month's new story of some other SEC school giving out money and hookers.

Naw. Miami embarrassed them time and time and time again.

Miami rubbed their noses in the dirt. Got NCAA folks fired, and made others quit.

Then we ****ed down their backs while they lay flat on the ground.

And there are still some who think the NCAA will give us our findings before Christmas? Dream on.

NCAA just keeps shooting themselves in the foot and looking around for someone to tell them to stop. This entire episode could have been closed with a simple one-page statement accepting, in light of the compromised investigation, Miami's self-imposed schollie reductions, visit limits and two year bowl ban. Thank the University of Miami. President Shalala and Al Golden for their cooperation. Case closed. Move on to bigger fights (*cough* athlete compensation *cough*)

It was right there for them. A fuggin layup and this entire chapter could be closed.

But no. That isn't how egos work. Pride is fuggin with them. They gotta swell their chests and pretend they know what they're doing. Prove their relevance since competence is out of reach.

I think they give us a parting shot. One last slap before they close the door. One more bowl ban and a handful of ships over two years.

Hope I'm wrong.

Who gives a **** about the NCAA? Miami has them right where they want them. The NCAA could come out with severe penalties and Miami will stomp their asses in court. The only other option is time served. Either way is a win win for Miami. Let them wait as long as they want to to hand down the penalties. Doesn't mean ****.

arrogance and ignorance personified, NCAA should suck it up and move on, it will get worse for them instead of better.

absent severe debilitating sanctions i highly doubt you are going to see a lawsuit from UM.

Well then we'll agree to disagree. The NCAA doesn't have a leg to stand on and all they have left is making Miami wait when they wanted to burn the program to the ground. Miami is holding all the cards and won't hesitate to sue the **** out of them if time served isn't the punishment.

Miami cooperated while the NCAA went full attack mode and can be proven time and time again through out this investigation. How many investigations have started and ended while this witch hunt has gone on? Miami will slam dunk their incompetent asses.

Donna Shalala and the NCAA are at war and we won't know the outcome probably until the end of October when the COI meets although nobody knows. The NCAA likes hurting people. Free Miami

It would be awesome if we could get to the BCS game this year. Just making it would be a huge bird finger to the NCAA!

Didn't the COI take 4 months or so with the North Carolina case? May just be par for the course with such a complex case. May be that the press pulled that 6-8 week "window" out their ***.

I don't think the delay is intentional or necessarily a bad thing.

Trying to understand the ncaa is a waste of time as they do as they please and bend rules that might actually be in place to control them

Stupid *** NCAA with an axe to grind with UM. Their hubris will bring them down like a house of cards. Multiple fronts challenging the NCAA hegemony. Dragging this out wont turn the tide of public opinion. Bring it bishes!

If by complex you mean not a SEC or Big 10 case, then yes. When the conference commissioner calls the NCAA and tells it exactly what the punishment will be it is a much simpler case.
