Jamarcus Chatman

If what you are saying is true then he wasn’t at the top of our DT board last Spring like people are saying. This is a weird situation and somebody is lying to save face but as one poster said I don’t care at this point. He’s a definite take.

Why would Chatman be at the top of the miami DT board with monsters like Nesta and Thompson on that board too. That was another BS rumor.

Probably top after nesta in the spring is where he was supposedly on the board. Regardless this kid is a monster period and anchored the best dline in Georgia the last 2 years

Chatman is the third best player on that DL. Played opposite of Anderson who is AJC POY (All classifications) and played with Griffin who was 3 time first team all-state. Chatman would have had 3 all-state selections if Brenton Cox didn't exist.

Griffin has a brother who plays rb on the team in the 2019 class who is really good. I love that we doubled back on Chatman

Why are ppl complaining about this again? Kid actively wants to go to Miami even after the staff told him there wasn't room. Kid wants to be a Cane and is every bit the part of a great HS dlineman. If he's the second DT in this class, that's pretty **** good.

If he "actively wants to go to UM" then he'd already be committed.

Correct me if I'm wrong, wasn't he JUST re-offered? You expect him to commit the day he receives it? While he seems like he does want to be a Cane, if he just got the offer back, I don't blame him for taking the other visits he was scheduled to go on.

Reading this thread makes me wonder about people's intelligence. The spots clearly opened up once the DT's left, the staff CLEARLY thinks DB is our weakest position and we are leaving guaranteed spots to TC/PS2. We only have so many scholarships to give out, there aren't 100 scholarships to give. Once the DT's left two scholarship spots opened up. Golden and Co. left this roster in shambles before they left, this **** isn't going to get fixed in year 2 of Richt's own classes. SMH people are clueless.

Whether Rj McIntosh or Kendrick Norton leave or not, it shouldn't have changed anything for our recruiting strategy in the 2018 class is the problem with that. You want to know why? because after next season you are guaranteed to lose 3 DTs anyway (Rj, Norton, Willis), which would leave us with Bethel, Ford, Nesta, Tyreic Martin, and any 2019 DTs we get. That literally makes no sense. You aren't supposed to wait to get DTs until after they graduate! You get DTs in preparation for guys graduating. This isn't ****ing RB or WR where you can just plug and play Freshman. This is DL who unless they are a complete stud, need time to develop.

So basically this is either atrocious planning, or we just missed on a few guys. Or who the **** knows what is happening, but those other 2 options are the most likely.

And I'm not even really worried, because I think no matter who is out there Kool is gunna make them play at a high level

I agree. And the fact that 2 DTs left early turned it from a position of need to what appears to be a desperation scramble.

But it’s not desperation when this kid is legit as it gets period

It's not even about Chatman or Briggs or whoever not being Miami caliber. That's what you're not getting.

The fact is it appears we are scrambling at the current moment and that just means poor planning and now it looks like we might even oversign at DT, which I guess is better than undersogning.

**** for all we know, we will end up getting Thompson and Coburn to come here, and this DT class will looks like one of the best dt classes we've ever landed.

Though I wouldn't expect to finish with Thompson, Coburn, Chatman, Briggs, and Chatfield along with Nesta and Rousseau. Plus theres that Carson kid and one more I don't remember the name of we are going after. DL recruiting has been all over the place and I don't think anyone really knows what the actual plan is.

Like if we get Thompson and Coburn do we really still want Chatman and Briggs? Or just one?

You see things with a clarity and matter of factness others simply have yet to achieve.

Dude wanted to commit to storm18 & be a Cane. We told him we didnt have room. Makes me scratch my head because he was one of Kul's top targets & he didnt have a "commitable" offer at the time.

I was under the impression he was playing games with us, as Im sure many were due to his extremely pro-miami tweets & **** at the time, but turns out we were the ones jerking him around in this case.

I hope they mend the relationship, I like Chatman more then Briggs. I think he is plug & play. Nesta & Chatman alone is one **** of a DT class in my opinion..

Get Chatman and shirt him. Kid can be special if he has time to develop. Nesta should help him shirt which is great

a week or two ago ppl were saying kool can't recruit and how rumph should be fired for striking out on AH

now it seems like we're about to sign an AMAZING DL class and get AT LEAST 2/4 from AH with a legitimate shot at campbell to make it 3/4

nesta chatfield briggs chatman and outside shot at gerald with rousseau already committed.

garvin
djack (who was awesome this year btw before the injury)
gearld willis (former 5* primed to make one last hoorah for a shot at the nfl, dude is gonna be an animal)
Ford (better footwork than kendrick, think kendrick leaving wont hurt as much as some believe)
joe jackson(probably best pass rushing DL we've had in a long time)

with experienced secondary and linebacking corp.. gonna be a crazy year

If I am to believe you that he "actively wants to be a Cane" and he finally got the real offer he's been coveting that he'd jump on it right away. That's what someone who actively wants to be a Cane and has supposedly been waiting on an offer would do. Otherwise, it's nonsense and lip service. He's shown he's not averse to committing to schools.

I used to think everyone could cut through garbage like me because it comes so easy for me. But, clearly, it's a gift. Most of these guys are easy marks, who just buy whatever they hear.

They've sold him on sde early , he's not rs.The Dl is desperate at this point , we might play all or majority of the dl in this class. Minus maybe Briggs ( if he commits )

Lol where did this sneak dissing of Coach Kool come from?? He's the best dl coach UM has ever had... His reputation is great recruiting enough you fool. Do you think every school decision a recruit makes is due to the recruiter of that school doing a better job "recruiting" that prospect? Gtfoh
Not to change the subject? Best DL coach that UM has ever had? Palermo was good while he was at the U... Couldn't recruit for shiznit but he did an excellen job coaching for us... I'm just saying...Carry on

Butch Davis wasn't too shabby. Rick Petri was good, too. Bob Karmelowicz might be the best of all. We won a national title with Eric Miller and Anthony Hamlet as our two starting defensive tackles in 1991.

Palermo was cooking with gas in 2006. He couldn't get along with Shannon and got thrown under the bus.

Kul is a darn good position coach and one of the best in the country.

Not sure where Greg Mark would rank but he did have some great lines during his tenure.
Doesn't get a lot of credit IMO

Harold Allen should get a mention. He got a lot of DLmen drafted pretty high in the 70's.

I lived across the street from Coach Allen and went out a few times with his daughter Donna.....Real nice man...and not a bad looking daughter.

i like chatmans film more than Briggs. Chatman has that get off man that u cant do nothing about

I respect your eye... I was thinking the same thing. But I was also thinking it could be technique... something that Kul could remedy. Shaq went over to DJack's (His Host) place last night to meet Briggs.
