Didn't play in tonight's scrimmage, coaches said to rest his arm. Could be more to that story than there leading on.

A compression bandage would suggest a muscle pull or strain. Rest would be warranted comsidering we only have freshmen available at the the QB spot as the alternative

If he threw his arm out he'll be OK in a matter of days. Best to keep him out tonight, heal up.

Kinda ridiculous we haven't named our starter and AG continues to play the "or" game with the depth chart

But not if he has tendonitis in his elbow. He'd have to rest it completely for several weeks and wear a compression bandage on his elbow.

How the **** do u know? Maybe they know who all the starters and they don't want to tell u? Maybe they don't know yet so it's only fair for the players involved to keep things open.

Shut up.

I'm not buying the " Rest" thing. If you are going to " Rest" someone it would be Duke, Flowers or DP. Not a guy who has been here for only 5 months especially when they had a day off Sunday. Either he is hurt or he has won the job.

i am not buying the he won the job and they were giving him a rest argument, that is for sure. either he stinks and they wanted kaaya to get more reps or he is legitimately hurt.

What if this is simply more mind games by Golden. Just a hunch, coaches feel comfortable with Heaps and his progress thus far and wanted to test Kaaya out by not telling him/the team about Heaps sitting out until right before the scrimmage in order to apply as much mental pressure on Kaaya as possible. Coaches do this quite frequently at other positions during Fall camp to test backups out but it is unorthodox to do so with your QB who from all accounts is still learning the Offense. But given our injuries and suspension woes AG might have wanted to throw Kaaya into the fire now just in case we need to actually throw him into the fire come Labor Day.

I can see AG doing something like this IF he is comfortable with Heaps development thus far and he simply used a minor injury as a chance to see how Kaaya responds under pressure.
