Miami's staff is doing its best to see as many underclassmen targets as possible before the NCAA's contact period closes next week.
InsideTheU can confirm that the Hurricanes had coaches out on the road recruiting in California, New Jersey and multiple parts of Florida on Thursday.
Rhett Lashlee made by far the most interesting stop of the day as he spent time at La Harba which is right outside of Los Angeles. The school is home to 2021 Top247 quarterback Jake Garcia, who visited Miami this past summer before committing to USC.
Jonathan Patke and Mike Rumph were both in New Jersey. The two swung by Camden where they got a chance to check up on a pair of 2021 targets in four-star cornerbacks Alijah Clark and Duce Chestnut. Patke and Rumph also made the short drive over to Philadelphia where they offered Northeast 2021 Top247 defensive end Elijah Jeudy and Northeast three-star cornerback Tyreek Chappell.
Ephraim Banda and Blaker Baker worked the Sunshine State's Space Coast. The two hit Rockledge, Melbourne Eau Gallie, Vero Beach and Fort Pierce Westwood. Prospects with UM offers at that group of schools include: 2021 Top247 athlete Dink Jackson, 2021 three-star edge rusher Keanu Koht, 2021 linebacker Zachary Lovett, 2021 linebacker Kenard Snyder, 2021 safety Jordan Blackmon, 2021 wide receiver/h-back Raheim Sanders and 2022 safety Kamari Wilson. Satellite Beach 2021 tight end Gunnar Greenwald also picked up an offer from the Hurricanes on Thursday.
Manny Diaz and Eric Hickson made the rounds in Broward County. The two started the morning at Hollywood Chaminade-Madonna Prep which is home to a Miami commit in 2021 placekicker Andres Borregales and a top priority in 2021 Top247 running back Thad Franklin. The Hurricanes also have offers out at the school to 2021 Top247 linebacker Terrence Lewis, 2021 four-star wide receiver Bralon Brown, 2021 defensive tackle Allan Haye, 2022 defensive end Jamaal Johnson and 2022 edge rusher Kenyatta Jackson.
