Jacurri “HBK” Brown SR HL

Tyler VanDyke was. 58% passer in his high school career. Although he did go over 60% as a senior. A quarterback’s accuracy usually depends on how many deep passes he attempts. A high school coach isn’t wasting an arm like that throwing 12 screen passes a game.

Jacurri’s passing will look a lot better when he is in a college passing offense with college receivers. Valdosta is run-first.

He's got way better natural tools than Nkosi
Maybe but Nkosi was a **** of a highlight in high schooL. Remember it was lots of running around and then throwing deep? He didn’t run as well as Brown and isn’t as big, but they had a similar passing style.

I previously compared him to N’kosi as a prospect in terms of where he’s at in his development.

After watching this it’s clear to me he’s light years ahead of Kosi. Holy **** this kid has a lot of talent. Reminds me of a bigger version of Dennis Dixon.

Lot to like and a lot to work on

Like: Big arm, strong, fast, competitor (check out actual game film) and winner
Work on: holds the ball low so his release is long, quick to leave the pocket, doesn’t always throw on time or take the easy throw (maybe that is just the highlight since check downs don’t make good video)

College will tell us how well Brown takes to coaching and how committed he is to being great. if he is committed he can be the next Steve McNair. If he is satisfied with his skill because he can “make things happen”, he will be the next Nkosi Perry.

FYI, Lowndes plays big boy football and has great tradition.
He seems like a kid who is going to work his tail off. We need that!

Ken Dorsey would do wonders for this kid like he has done with Cam Newton and Josh Allen as big athletic qb’s

(I still prefer Brady/Briles but just saying)

TVD also cleaned up his mechanics quite a bit. Brown will have to do the same.

Watched 3/4 full games this year and it seemed like they didn’t want to throw unless it was 3&long. That could have something to do with his %. Kids game reminds me of the crab thief that played up north a few years ago (not throwing motion but skill set)

3 ints is great...completion % is ehh...but at least it appears he can protect the ball. Will have to clean up his mechanics...holding the ball low will lead to fumbles at the next level.

Depends on what kind of incompletions they are. Throwaways? Drops? Go look up Ken Dorsey's % at Miami. Ken would throw the ball away before taking a sack or throwing a pick... a lot. The fact that Brown has such a low # of INT's might mean he knows to throw it out of bounds rather than force it.
