In all the games leading up to Florida state and VT we were consistently gang tackling ball carriers we need are players to start doing that again and to stop missing one on ones get 4 or 5 hats on the ball carrier.

Listen, everything has gotten worse on defense. Think we all got our hopes up after the U*** game.

Better offenses... We literaly faced the worst offenses in all of the NCAA (D1,2 and 3) in our first 4 games... Against average opponents we were spoiled... Even UF, they marched down the field on us at will, only to show their true colors and turn the ball over at will... Getting to the redzone that many times were negatives our defense just masked it through turnovers but it wasn't a good sign... I think Driskell also had a career on us passing completions and percentage.... We have a lot to work on regarding defense...

I don't know what's going on. I know they look half ****** dead every week on D no energy, no excitement, not ****.

First you need two players somewhere near the ball carrier. We seem to have trouble getting one. Second, when we do have two or more, they seem to knock each other down.

Not pushing complete blame on the S&C but this was a concern of mine. Lots of guys putting on A LOT of weight. That comes with consequences sometimes.

I was wondering if our conditioning would hold up these last few games. So far, can't say I'm impressed.

Probably has something to do with offenses spreading us out.

When you're playing teams that run 21, 22 or 12 personnel you're gonna get more gang tackles cause all of your defenders are in the box. Combine this with the fact that D'Onofrio loves to play with 5 or 6 man boxes against the spread. We're almost always out-numbered in the box.

That's one of the things that makes the spread hard to defend unless you've got alot of speed. The offense is routinely getting your defenders in space. Well if you're obsessed with bulking all your players up to maximum capacity like we are then guess what happens when they have to play in space.

Yeah.

Direct Correlation to less Team Gang Bangs.

Acting like less of a team. Makes sense.

More Gang Bangs, Better Tackling.
