I've Loved Golden Since The Day He Was Hired

But tonight gave me real reason to worry.

We had no pride whatsoever. It looks like some guys just don't care. We made no adjustments.

So, I went back and listened to what Jason Whitlock said when Golden was hired:
"Not a good game day coach." "Nothing special about his scheme." "Makes very questionable strategic decisions."

And I'm afraid I now think he's right. Al is a great guy and a relentless recruiter but I think his scheme and coaching deficiencies will prevent us from ever being elite again.

Now what do I do? Root for us to lose a lot so he gets fired? Or root for 9-3 seasons each year? Because I'm afraid that's probably our ceiling with him.

We can be a good team under Golden. Beat up on poor teams. Win some close games. But we'll never beat the top dogs.

And that's a bitter pill to swallow.

We get badly outcoached just about every week. Golden is a good PR guy, but his coaching is very questionable.

was actually going to write this myself. Whitlock said despite having the most talent he was never able to win his ****** conference at Temple. He said he was not the guy. This game and UVA last year have solidified that for me. Ill change my mind if he is willing to change assistants STARTING with the "DC", but until then or an ACC/NC Title I have seen all I need to see

Al needs to man up, and fire/suspend his friend. If he doesn't, the AD should. Else, they both should start looking for their next job.
 
What have we done this season under Golden's watch? Escape with a win against an unimpressive Gators team (couldn't get the offense going AT ALL), blown out by FSU, kicked in the *** by Virginia Tech at home, and almost lost (literally) to Georgia Tech, UNC, and WAKE FOREST. This 7-2 record doesn't show the whole story. The ACC sucks and we're barely winning conference games. THAT'S NOT A GOOD SIGN. That's not real improvement.

Hes still a young coach. He has a lot of the attributes you want in your head guy. Will be interesting to see if he makes any changes.

Agree with this. He had no pressure at Temple. Let's see if a) he can adapt; b) his system works with his players; c) he's a car salesman.
