But tonight gave me real reason to worry.
We had no pride whatsoever. It looks like some guys just don't care. We made no adjustments.
So, I went back and listened to what Jason Whitlock said when Golden was hired:
"Not a good game day coach." "Nothing special about his scheme." "Makes very questionable strategic decisions."
And I'm afraid I now think he's right. Al is a great guy and a relentless recruiter but I think his scheme and coaching deficiencies will prevent us from ever being elite again.
Now what do I do? Root for us to lose a lot so he gets fired? Or root for 9-3 seasons each year? Because I'm afraid that's probably our ceiling with him.
We can be a good team under Golden. Beat up on poor teams. Win some close games. But we'll never beat the top dogs.
And that's a bitter pill to swallow.
