It's all up front

Rewatching game and we get absolutely zero penetration from our DL whatsoever. They get stood up on almost every down which puts a huge strain on the rest of the defense. McCord and AQM have been great on 3rd down but that is it. Once we get blown up up front we are then faced with Armbrister and Gaines (Jag's) to make plays with the ultimate jag in Highsmith behind them.

The scary version is we are losing our "top 3" DL rotation in Robinson, Porter and Renfrow. Quite scary that those are the best we have. We no DT's in the recruiting class last year do not expect anything to change for next year. Not only can Jethro not recruit but also fails to develop. Blame Coach D all we want but our problems start right up from and trickle down from there.

The defense isn't designed to get penetration. When will people get this?
Their role on 1st & 2nd down is to build a wall and not allow runs or QB draws. LBS clean up the run plays.

On 3rd down you can see us getting more pressure every now and then because we let our rush ends loose (though even then we stunt them so much).

Bama does the same **** with their front 3/4. They don't get a ton of sacks. But Bama plays SUPER aggressive in the back 7 and play nickel and dimae packages against 3/4/5 wide looks.


It's not on our DL much imo. The LBs in coverage and our safety play is really bad.
