Wag the dogSpring won’t happen. It will just be another bullshyt “possibility” they throw out there to appease the mob.
We’ve seen this before:
- “we’ll just delay the season”
- “ we’ll just do a Conference-only schedule“
This had to be the plan all along and I hope the media is happy with themselves because this is 100% their doing. All the players and coaches want to play, but you have losers in the press doing whatever it takes o stop it all. What a total embarrassment.
you can blame writers, but it really comes down to liability. universities aren't willing to risk lawsuits in the event it goes south. it is what it is. as it stands, miami is already getting sued by a former student over tuition after a cancelled springSpring won’t happen. spring wont happen. Its kicking the can down the road to sell hope..Spring is better than nothing
The opt-out option took care of the liability issue, for the most part. Never mind that college football players will be safer playing football than being normal college students.you can blame writers, but it really comes down to liability. universities aren't willing to risk lawsuits in the event it goes south. it is what it is. as it stands, miami is already getting sued by a former student over tuition after a cancelled spring
I’ve yet to see a good reply to how are players safer not being in a controlled environment with coaches trying to keep them accountable, testing twice a week, protocols in place, football occupying their time and energy, than they would be without football and left to their own devices.
This is about preventing lawsuits from players who contract the virus. Universities want no part of litigation because they’d box themselves into admitting players are employees or in being responsible for their care. The choice is giving them fuel to unionize and kill the golden goose they have it opens them up to millions in civil suits.
College sports need a vaccine to play again.

Most of the sportswriters were rooting for this outcome in order to push their narratives about the virus. It’s that simple.

If Biden’s wins. The next day they will be like corona is just a flu or a strong head coldBlame cnn and msnbc for pushing a hysterical narrative about spiking cases while deaths and hospitalizations go down.
they weren't ever gonna tested twice a week at miami. please listen to manny's presser. he said on friday that theyre following NCAA protocols and testing once a week (ACC is too). b10 and sec are doing twice a weekI’ve yet to see a good reply to how are players safer not being in a controlled environment with coaches trying to keep them accountable, testing twice a week, protocols in place, football occupying their time and energy, than they would be without football and left to their own devices.

But the problem is that optics shouldn’t drive the conversation; it should be the data.the issue is that those same players are with normal college students too. going to the same classes, going to the same parties, etc. RU is having issues even getting kids to stop going to parties w no kids on campus. it was always going to be hard without bubbling up the athletes and you cant bubble up CFB players who aren't get paid to play bc the optics look terrible in terms are they students or are they essential employees
