2017 Isaac Buell strong side D-end from Knoxville Central HS in Tenn is a classic under the radar high motor player he makes a lot plays out of share hustling to the ball. The 6'5" 270lbs 2* shows good technique and plays with exceptional leverage for a taller player and diagnosis's plays quickly to find the ball carrier in traffic thanks a high football IQ (he also carriers a 4.2+ GPA in the classroom).
Buell shows good hip flexibility when making himself skinny coming off the edge as a pass rusher but lacks the elite speed to be a every down 4-3 D-end in college. I see Beull more so playing the (DT) 3-tech position and being a potential match up nightmare on the inside for guards and centers, after he has a redshirt year to properly fill out his frame and further improve his hand techniques. He is athletic enough that he could also slide out to SDE in short yardage situations, providing good flexibility along the dline.
Beull has started making the smaller camp rounds this spring and is making a name for himself. Coach Kool has been quietly keeping tabs on the young man, because he definitely checks most the box's coach Kool likes in his dlinemen, but Beull's level of competition is most likely suspect which could be why UTenn has not offered him despite being in their backyard. Beull has visited Duke and I don't relish the idea of him being under the tutelage of Coach Petri; if Beull ends up developing the way some think he will.
Beull has said he will attend a few camps this summer so lets see if Coach Kool can get him down to Miami for a camp. Also Beull seems to be religious so having CMR will definitely give UM high marks.
