To me this will be a key telling sign if Golden has the program back on track or not.
Confidence a.k.a Swagger is what this program was built on and carried it until a succession of coaches failed to foster it.
And it takes a special type of coach to ingrain it into the teams psyche so when Saturday's come it's displayed naturally.
The previous two coaches failed at this. The talent was there the mentality was not.
By all accounts Golden is developing a team with swagger that by now year 3 we should see it manifest itself on the field.
He has all the elements to field a pretty confident team - leaders, veteran team with chip on their shoulders and the talent necessary to make good on their swagger. Cause swagger ain't swagger unless it's backed up on the field.
Come September, specifically on the 7th, when they step on to the field and look across at the field and see their orange and blue rivals they should be expecting to kicksass and take names.
Win or lose what I'll be looking for is the aforementioned. Cause if it's displayed in a real manner and not superficially like previously done we'll know that the program is on track to being back.
