Let's see how much these teams really differ under the coaching staffs.

Let's see if Golden has really changed our culture.

Let's see if we can give ND the beat down they deserve.

A lot of people said we turned the corner with Shannon when we beat OK at home too. All of these one game ultimatums are annoying.

A. The team was essentially coachless when they played ND in that crappy bowl

2. Anyone with even the smallest traceable amount of brain activity is aware that Golden is a better HC than Shannon, so we can let it go at this point.

Tertiarily, ND is a much better team than the 7-5 team that played in that crappy bowl.

I think we can all agree Golden is better.

This game will show us if we can perform in the true spotlight, if our game day coaching and performance is enough to compete in the top of cfb again.

It will be. We will.

only thing is a loss won't necessarily mean we can't perform in the spotlight.
Now if we get blown out ala KSU than we can agree this team is not ready for prime time.
But it also won't be an implication against Golden or that he hasn't changed the culture.

You won't have many of these answers for another year.

Big difference is that two weeks in a row we have came back when history showed we should have folded. Also those RS teams starting in 09 and 10 were much much more talented than the squad we have right now. Next year when most of the talent will be in its 2nd and 3rd year will be much more telling. An RS coached with this talent would probably not win 4-5 games in a season. As I type this 3 huge buses with state police escort just drove by the stadium, it almost game time.

No, I'm waiting until Golden gets his full 3 years and has the roster mostly filled with his guys.

If we don't see it by now you never will. It's night and day with Shannon/Golden.

Golden is a little over 1 season into his career. Shannon's team, in his 4th season, got drubbed by ND.

There will never be a real Shannon/Golden faceoff because the past has no substance whereas the present does.
