Is this a Terrible QB class?

Lashlee seems to be locked in on Garcia to the point we haven't offered a QB in months. Is this just a terrible QB class or something?

Let’s hope King comes back another year or the Van Dyke hype is legit. I also think Kosi will be MUCH better in this offense like the 2nd half of VT last year. Hopefully Matocha doesn’t transfer and can be a solid 3rd string. At this point I don’t like our chances with Garcia. Maybe an uncommitted QB takes a huge stride in his senior year and we can pull them. That’s if the season even happens for HS.
 
No it's not at all... There are actually several really good QB's in this class.

We just missed the boat because #1 Covid shut everything down & made it difficult for us to recruit too many QB's who had never visited Miami, the Spring/Summer period is where most QB visits happen & because on campus UV's have been essentially cancelled with being in an indeterminate Dead period since March it's been the most difficult for us with QB recruiting.

Kids also haven't seen this offense with their own eyes, sure Lash can show them tape via Zoom, but they need to see it in person before they jump fully in.

We also dragged our feet with the Texas QB's, 15 Texas QB's will be signing with non TX schools in the 21 class, including 2 in the state of Florida. We should've jumped on the wave earlier in the year & capitalized off it, but we took too long & got left out this time.

The biggest mistake we made was putting all our eggs in the Garcia basket, you never bet the house on a high profile Southern Cali QB, especially if you're not an already well established offensive program which we're not.

Part of it is that the staff apparently really likes TVD & likes his upside, so I guess they're comfortable with having him & Perry battle it out for the Spring 21, we also can always hit the Portal at the end of the year & find another QB if necessary.

It's still a few months til NSD in December, so maybe as the season kicks off we might offer someone else, but if not we're either hitting the Portal in Dec/January or just sticking with TVD for the 21 season.

If by chance do you know what happened with Jalen Milroe??? Seemed like there was heat for him a while back and now barely anything is said anymore.... Any insight on what's been happening there???

Yeah man I don't get why he's gone all out on Garcia. Fortunately for us no one's eligibility will count this year. So Kosi will be here in 21 and 22. Hopefully King comes back as well
 
Why are you complaining? Geez we have 4 quarterbacks and our class is great considering we were 6-7 last year. Go smoke a bowl of marijuana and smile!

Fair but you also have to extend an offer and recruit them to sign a recruit.

Agree with all of this except for that point. Lashlee has been on campus 8 months with limited ability to travel and evaluate kids, so I'm not sure what else he could have done

With everyone not losing eligibility I think we're good imo King has no reason to leave he's 5'9 and wants to be a qb his only hope is lighting it up at Miami for 2 years to prove his case. I also think he's smart enough to realize all of this. If he does leave we still have 4 QBS on the roster TVD looks like the truth Kosi looks to have matured hopefully Tate has too! The offence fits all of them so that's a good thing. If we find a good grad transfer cool if not I think we still do a lot better.
 
I’m too lazy and drunk to read the thread so if this is a repeat I apologize.

Lashlee is doing this perfectly. Set your sights on someone you perceive as a difference maker. If you miss look at transfers, plus this year he can recruit king to come back for one more year as well.

qbs commit early. Anyone any good has already committed. Lashlee came in late in the process. His focus is and should be on the class of 21.

if Garcia works out cool. If not look for king to return or we hit the portal. Either way I’m not worried.

I would add that TVD has a look to him that i find very Vinny T like but he needs time to develop.
 
The two top guys last year, they're better than anyone this year IMO. The rest is a push.
