The big question for Miami is, can the former BYU Cougar and Jayhawk come in and fill the position effectively? Heaps started his college career off with a bang in Provo, throwing for 2,316 yards, 15 touchdowns, and an MVP trophy to his name at the 2010 New Mexico Bowl. But he hit a sophomore slump, only starting six games and losing his job due to poor play. Heaps then took his talents to Kansas and after sitting out 2012 due to transfer rules, he had a disappointing debut for KU, only completing 49 percent of his throws, with eight touchdowns and 10 interceptions.

Let's hope that one of the guys competing can get it done. Don't know much about this kid, but willing to take a chance owing to experience. Thinking back UM has had receivers who have made average quarterbacks look good.

I don't care which quarterback is the starter as long as he is the best available and moves the sticks without turning the ball over.

What kind of offense did he play in at Kansas?

If Miami can run the ball successfully with Johnson, Yearby, and Edwards Heaps doesn't have to be Superman.

The offense can be one of the best "pro style" offenses in the country if it can improve its 3rd down conversion rate. There are a lot of proven big play threats and some guys who have the potential to be this year.

I don't care who, but I want a QB to WIN the spot not have everyone else LOSE the spot.

There was an article from some QB guru that had coached him which was highly complimentary, but he began his comments with "he [Heaps] is not going to wow you with his arm." And he never said, "the kid can make all the throws."

We have a roster full of WRs that can get open deep. I want a QB who can throw over the top with ease.
