I know everyone is on same page thinking that because our defense has been atrocious there would be changes. However looking back at Temple and first few years here does anyone know if he has ever fired an assistant?
A trend I've noticed would be we consistently cycle through offensive coaches that are poached away. In 3 years not one defensive coach has left how often does that happen with normal attrition rate? Hard to believe we have maintained that continuity with how terrible all three phases have performed.
Curious about what others think.?

It isn't continuity.. It's nobody wanting anyone on the worst defensive staff in America.

He was always improving at Temple stats looked better each year....no need to fire people at TEMPLE...

Teams with long term wins steady numbers keep staffs in place...kids & recruits like this

Coach D and what is going in here at Miami is a total different situation

War eagle.

Just listened to Golden's interview on the Joe Rose Show and, unfortunately/incredibly, there is no way in **** he is firing Mark D. I think Golden's emotional attachment to his buddy and the rest of his staff is definitely keeping him from making the obviously needed changes with his assistant coaches.

I like Al but he is getting paid a very good salary by the University to put the best product possible on the field come gameday and to win. He should not be using his position as Head Coach, along with the University's money, to keep his clearly in-over-his-head best friend employed just because he feels bad about firing his underperforming as$.

The results speak for themselves; Mark D has failed and failed miserably. Working under anybody else but his best friend the guy would have been fired well before now. Al needs to make the tough decisions necessary to get this team performing at it's full potential and start running things like he's in charge of a Big-time CFB program and not a charitable organization

I'm just interested in why none of coaches have moved on or been replaced if we have improved the last 3 years it's been to minuscule to notice. Even our subpar offense in 2011 lost 3 assistants and last year same with decent production.

You see, even if the haircuts got better, to Al that was moving forward.

Criteria.

We'd be in the top ten if we were measured on gaining weight. Or percentages bench pressing weights. Or staying with the 'process.'

Problem is, lifting weights doesn't allow you to zone block, catch a fast DE on the outside, or your formerly quick LB's to run down a quarterback.

This program is completely off track with emphasis on everything wrong.
