Inside Cam's Decision to Transfer to Miami - another great story with some new info

“The biggest thing is Mario Cristobal laid out a plan of what it would mean for him to come,” Calvin said. “One of the things laid out was how we had Justin Herbert at Oregon and what they thought they could do with Cameron. The biggest thing was just, that it was an opportunity for two underdogs if they mesh, what it could mean. Miami was an underdog, and Cameron was an underdog. And I think, if he goes, let’s say to Florida State, and if Florida State wins the ACC it was like, ‘OK, it didn’t mean a lot because they had already won.'”

At Incarnate Word

In his first game at Incarnate Word as a true freshman, Cam Ward played at McNeese State on Feb. 27, 2021. Ed Orgeron’s son, Cody, was the starting quarterback. Incarnate Word went on to win 48-20 as Ward threw for four touchdowns.

Now at Miami, Cam Ward is five touchdown passes away from breaking Case Keenum’s record for passing touchdowns in NCAA history.

“For Patrice, and I, that’s unbelievable but significant,” Calvin Ward said. “You’re telling me that my son, who came out unranked, is going to end up top three, top five in the history of throwing the football. That’s unbelievable.”

I’m glad the thing about Case Keenum is in there

I’ve been meaning to ask but keep forgetting because they keep talking about Gabriel but not Ward and I’m like well I guess Incarnate Ward stats don’t count?

When they talk about Gabriel they’re referencing FBS (only) numbers.
