CORAL GABLES — And good morning from the University of Miamicampus.
The sun is bright and the Hurricanes are on the practice field for the most intense practice of game week. It's a full pads day after the team wore baseball caps and jerseys yesterday.

There were a few developments worth noting from the viewing period. Here we go ...
- Punter Dalton Botts was out there with his sprained ankle taped, but without the boot and crutch he used yesterday. He wasn't punting when we were out there, but he was practicing holding for place kicks.
- Backup punters Matt Goudis and Jake Wieclaw were punting off to the side as they compete for the possibility to replace Botts on Saturday against NC State.
- Linebacker Denzel Perryman again wore the boot on his injured foot. He wore red for injured players not participating in contact drills.
- Speaking of ankles, Perryman's fill-in at middle linebackerJimmy Gaines had a heavy tape job on his left ankle this morning. He wore yellow for players taking limited contact.
- And Part III of linebackers with ankles, Raphael Kirby had a decent tape layer on his left leg injured in early August. Look for an update on his status this afternoon after Al Golden addresses reporters.
