Low 3 star recruit out of ohio with offers from:

Illinois
Northwestern
Cincinnati
Boston College
Bowling Green
Akron

Upgrade over Fines in my opinion. Fits scheme better.

So by reading this....this a golden special then

Quality depth for DT with plenty game experience. Plus our guys will push him to be even better if he wants play time.
Ok, who do we fire for this and can I throw a hissy fit anyway?

Probably not the next Jerome Brown
He doesn't have to be.
Only need to be solid and dependable, than a superstar like JB. Let Willis, our stud DE's and our 1 more year experienced and improved back 7 make more plays. It's a team sport. With better QB play our D will be even better this year. Yes, QB play.

I still don't get what all the Kool haters were talking about. The guy is one of the best DL coaches in the country and they still found a way to trash him. Recruiting cycle ain't over y'all.

But this is a great addition with decent production at a garbage team. Tito, Nesta, and Rousseau + Briggs and Chatfield (maybe Chatman too) would be a great haul on the DL.

He isn't. It has no impact on our cycle numbers-wise.

Yes, he does count against the 25. All first-time grants of financial aid count as initial counters, except when giving a scholarship to a walk-on who has been on campus for at least 2 years.

True, but we have 28 available initial counters for 2018, so there's room

Only to the extent that we don't want to fill those spots with recruits. That's my point. We have 28 available spots. That number can't be increased, so by taking this guy and Boulware, we now can only sign 26 in this class.

So, it’s not like we have a bunch of targets left anyway

Don't disagree, and that's why I like this overall, but there is a scenario where we might want that spot. That's all I'm saying.

He absolutely impacts numbers. He counts against the 25 scholarships limit per year.

You sure?

Nope. And if that were the case, then why haven't you accounted for guys that we're losing to transfers like Owens and Fines?

Losing guys like Owens and Fines only helps us to the extent that it gives us room under the 85 scholarship limit. Losing those guys has no impact on the 25 scholarship limit.
