IMG 7on7 Top Performers

BRADENTON, Fla. - Fourteen teams from around the Southeast converged on the IMG campus for this weekends regional championship.

The championship game came down to two Miami-area teams, Fire and South Florida Express Elite. Elite came from the losers bracket to defeat Fire in back-to-back close finishes.

The top four teams qualified for the IMG National Championship in July. Fire, South Florida Express Elite, Team Tampa and Top Recruits will all be back to compete against the best 7-on7 teams in the country.

Top Performers

1) WR Shawn Burgess-Becker, Pompano Beach (Fla.) Monarch - Burgess-Becker was consistently spectacular all weekend. Although he's only a 2015 prospect, Burgess-Becker knows how to use his 6-foot-1 frame to climb the ladder and make plays in the air. He was the go-to-guy for Fire all the way to the championship game.

2) WR Ermon Lane, Homestead (Fla.) - The number two wide receiver in the country proved once again why he's one of the best. Nobody threw the ball deep more than South Florida Express Elite and Lane was usually the one on the receiving end. He's a well-built 6-foot-3 wideout with great ball skills and strong hands.

3) CB Kevin Toliver, Jacksonville (Fla.) Trinity Christian Academy - Even though Pro Impact only competed on day one, the 2015 cornerback did enough to garner high praise. He may be the best corner prospect in the state this year, regardless of class. Tolliver is 6-foot-2, 180-pounds with long arms and a smooth playing style.

4) QB Sean White, Hollywood (Fla.) University School - The 6-foot-2 quarterback started off hot on day two and led his South Florida Express Elite team to back-to-back wins over Fire to claim the championship. White displayed exceptional arm strength and pin-point accuracy. He rose to the occasion when most quarterbacks were wearing down in the Florida heat.

5) WR Artavis Scott, Tarpon Spring (Fla.) East Lake - Scott was the go-to-guy for defending National Champions, Team Tampa. Even though he's only 5-foot-10 and 175-pounds, Scott's leaping ability allows him to make plays at slot or on the outside. There weren't many cornerbacks that could slow Artavis Scott when his number was called.

6) QB Quinton Flowers, Miami (Fla.) Jackson - The 5-foot-11 dual-threat quarterback had the strongest arm in the entire field. Flowers, who wants to play quarterback on the next level, put on a show this weekend in Bradenton. His ability switch from throwing with power, to throwing with touch, was impressive.

7) WR Travis Rudolph, West Palm Beach (Fla.) Cardinal Newman - Rudolph is an exception athlete who played on both sides of the ball for South Florida Blur. He lined up at safety on defense, but was most effective as a wide receiver. Rudolph made great catches in traffic and displayed the ability to run away from defenders on deep balls.

8) WR Tajee Fullwood, Tampa (Fla.) Tampa Bay Tech - The 6-foot-2, 175-pound wide receiver/cornerback was a force on offense this weekend. He was physical and proved to be a valuable deep-threat for Unsigned Preps. Fullwood commanded double teams all weekend and if left in one-on-one situations, frequently out-muscled cornerbacks for jump balls.

9) CB Duke Dawson, Cross City (Fla.) Dixie County - Dawson was one of the most physical cornerbacks of the weekend. He was Top Recruit's lockdown corner and rarely gave up anything meaningful. Dawson, who is committed to Florida, was also a team leader on defense.

10) CB Derrick Tindal, Ft. Lauderdale (Fla.) Boyd Anderson - Tindal was a relative unknown to most outside of south Florida prior to this weekend's tournament. However, he proved to be one of the most consistent cover-corners at the event. Look for Tindal's stock to soar this spring and into summer.

Rudolph's name continuously comes up in these events. I hope we can get him back.

1. WR/DB SHAWN BURGESS-BECKER, COCONUT CREEK (FLA.) MONARCH (2015)
Burgess-Becker continues to impress on the offseason camp and 7-on-7 setting. The two-way star is a playmaker in every sense of the word. He is the go-to receiver for the Florida Fire team. At times it seemed like he was always open and unstoppable on the perimeter.

2. WR TRAVIS RUDOLPH, WEST PALM BEACH (FLA.) CARDINAL NEWMAN
There are some schools recruiting Rudolph as a cornerback, but every time we see him, he dazzles at wideout. Saturday was no different as he had several touchdown grabs from quarterback Bud Martin. On one vertical route, Rudolph created separation against the defender and hauled in a long bomb. After the play he broke into his touchdown celebration dance, which drew cheers from the crowd.

3. ATH RAY RAY MCCLOUD, TAMPA (FLA.) SICKLES (2015)
McCloud followed up his Rivals Camp Series presented by Under Armour offensive skill MVP award last month with a solid showing in Bradenton. One of his many highlights was a one-handed catch in traffic on a square-in route that gave his team a big first down. That drive ended in a score. He is a threat out of the backfield or split out wide.

4. WR ERMON LANE, HOMESTEAD (FLA.)
Lane was his usually self, scoring on a few deep pass plays from signal-caller Sean White. His vertical ability gave defenses fits all afternoon. He even beat LSU commit Kevin Toliver from the slot on a seam route.

5. ATH JIMMY BAYES, IMMOKALEE (FLA.)
Bayes turned in a good day at flanker. Although he had one drop, he did get behind the defense on a handful of plays for Team 239. His athleticism is off the charts and some schools are recruiting him on the defensive side of the ball because of his versatility.

6. RB JACQUES PATRICK, ORLANDO (FLA.) TIMBER CREEK (2015)
Patrick is a well-built power back with deceptive speed. He lined up at receiver and had pair of nice catches. The 2015 standout made a spectacular play on a two-point conversion as he out-jumped two players to come up with catch. His soft hands combined with his speed and size are a few reasons why he already has 30-plus offers.

i thought Tito said he struggled?

Lane was just ranked #1 WR in the country by ESPN. It's no way they could say he didn't perform we'll. I think the world of Lane but he just don't play with a lot of Fire at these events. Put him in pads he's the best.

I heard there was a 9th grader out there giving people the business. Surprised he's not on these lists
