WTF.

They have 11 of the ESPN 300 for 2017. Eleven. At one school.

I know it's like a sports boarding school, but why do people schedule them? What kind of schedule do they play? And why aren't they #1 in the nation?


I'm baffled that anyone in Florida would allow this.


STA is bad enough, but at least it's under the charade of a private religious school (whatever).


If I'm a HS in Florida why would i possibly want to help this fake school by putting games on their schedule?




and most importantly....


do we have a shot at any of their kids in 2017?

well i just checked out their schedule for 2015.


they only played 8 games. their 9th game was forfeited by some team from texas.

of the 8 games they played, only 2 of them were on the road and only 2 of them were teams against other Florida schools. The rest were all schools from Texas, NJ, etc.


Doesn't look like they were able to play in any District or State playoffs either.

except the players they send to Miami of course.
 
They bring in kids from all over, so it'd be hard for Miami to lock the school down regardless of who we have recruiting, but it is the single best collection of talented highschool players in America and it's in South-ish Florida.

Schools schedule them because they aren't unbeatable...Didn't American Heritage beat them this year? and AH didn't even go undefeated last I checked.
 
Most of those kids are not from South Florida so we will probably have a hard time getting anyone from there anyway.
 
all that you stated. They lost to American Heritage a team that didn't make it out the second round down here.

Heritage beat them without some of their best kids playing as well

They try to cherry pick top teams to play, and I think I read somewhere that they aren't allowed to join any State classifications
 
They get kids from everywhere so it'd be almost impossible to lock it down. If you look at their history and so many schools dip there with nobody really planting their flag. With Walsh maybe we have a better chance but I'm not sure
