But the idea that we “shut down the State of Miami” is nonsense.
Miami’s problem since the early 2000s is that we get a lot of SoFla players, but consistently lose out on the top top kids.
I recall people brushing off the Yearby instead of Cook situation. Those failures matter.
You simply cant walk away from this recruiting season having lost out on Surtain (LSU), Samuel (FSU), Xavier Thomas (Clemson), Jobe (Bama), Williams (Bama), Cook (UGA), etc.
In fact out of the 247 composite Top 10 in the state of Florida, 7 of those players are from the former State of Miami.
Out of those 7, we have 1 commit (Pope).
This is not shutting down the state of Miami, at all. This is business as usual.
