If we could have just one play back...

I'm going with the Morris to Coley bomb that was underthrown and picked. If we connect there it's a TD and HUGE momentum shift. Game is tied and who knows after that.

Instead, we get run off the field in the third quarter. We basically lost the game that quarter.

Those are the types of opportunities you can't miss in a game like that. The most frustrating part is that we blew that opportunity on the type of play that suits Stephen's strength (arm strength/deep ball). It felt like one of those Dorsett deep balls that we've hit so many times. I saw Coley out in front and thought we had a big one. Wish Morris would have put more on it with some air and led Coley off to the right (instead of throwing right at him) so it would have been Coley or nobody.

Plus, Morris was having a pretty good game to that point. He connects there and we're feeling really good. Such a shame.

I know it's just one play but man, what a turning point.

And I know it's over, and there were a hundred other problems, but I'm taking the day to be a bit bummed. I just keep seeing that **** play over and over in my head. Huge shift.

Tomorrow I'll have my mind right for VT b/c there's **** sure a lot to play for - really, other than the super rare MNC season, every single thing we've hoped for and wanted to accomplish for **** near 10 years is still on the table after 8 games. I'll take it, no question.

Here's to hoping we can do it for our boy Duke...and that I'll stop seeing Coley streaking downfield wide open every time I think about last night.

...and that we lost the battle but will win the war on December 7th!

Morris missed Waters on the slant on the first drive of second half. Look at the play again. It's a touchdown if he hits Waters in stride and we're tied up in the third quarter. Biggest miss of the game and very few people noticed it.

Missed plays by a multi year starting QB it's been like this all season

Still can't believe he "under threw" coley on the bomb

The Coley underthrow and the Waters miss were huge. Those were TDs missed. Giving up multiple 3rd and longs sucked too.

I don't think it would have been tied. Wasn't it 28-14 at that point? Regardless that was a huge mistake, especially when Morris' best attribute is supposed to be arm strength.

Are you talking about the play where the ball hit him right in the hands and Waters dropped it? It was a heater to be sure, but he should have caught it.

3rd Downs 3Downs oh and 3rd Downs

I believe this game is closer with Williams he just knows when to put touch on the ball

if I had to pick one though I'll take the run before Duke broke his ankle. that will hurt more than this loss

3rd and 12 on FSU's first drive, probably.

Sets an early example of the bend but don't break holding them. AQM lands hit on Winston.

I'm going with the play Duke got hurt on.

Play never happens if Morris and Coley connect. Ouch!

Terrible throw.

Not that we win the game, but those two plays, the Coley one hand drop and a missed FG is roughly 24 points off the board.

Some of that is FSU being **** good. A lot of that is our own ineptness.

All these. Frustrating.

You said it before the game and you were right. The biggest difference was the QB. Morris missed throws that **** makes in his sleep -- relatively simple throws. I almost punched through the wall when he missed a simple 8 yard slant on a perfect play call that would have tied the game in the third quarter. His **** poor pocket presence constantly handicapped us. He was, in fact, our biggest liability last night. Our WRs were getting open all day. Our line protected well enough. Yet our senior QB sh*t the bed when it mattered. I can't blame the defense. They kept us in the game as long as we could expect them to given the dearth of talent on that side. They were on the field too long for any reasonable person to expect them not to eventually break. For the first time, I think we will be markedly better as a team next year simply because of the change in QB.

No, he did not hit him in stride. It was an awful throw. And if you know my history on this board, I am not a Morris hater. It was a rocket behind Waters. Unacceptable miss.

The play where Duke got hurt, because it's the one that affects our season the most. Wouldn't have minded giving these guys a second look in December...with Duke.

Agreed on the Duke play. Sorta goes without saying I think. Love that kid...tough loss. Just praying he comes back as the Duke we know.

The fact remains that the ball hit him. While a pass more toward the inside probably results in a touchdown, the play as it happened is the kind of catch I have come to expect a WR at Miami to catch. Waters has the talent, but seems like he has stone hands at times, as do some of our other pass catchers (Walford, cough, cough).
