I know its Hurricane Blasphemy, but I wouldnt mind seeing a 4-2-5 a la ellis johnson last night...we got more DBs than backers and a bunch of hybrids

We run our base 3-4 hybrid in 2nd and 3rd and long at times. Don't see our staff having that flexibility.
 
Forget the Hybrid 3-4 crap we've been running. Go back to an aggressive 4-3 and we will be better.

I agree with you with everything but that adjective aggressive. I'm one of the posters just like most on this board, that is ****ed off and not happy with what we are doing on defense but wanted to point something out that I think has gotten lost. The whole notion of going back to an aggressive 4-3. The reality is that we haven't run an aggressive 4-3 in God knows how long. Yes the 4-3 we used to run from the aspect of the front four was a 1 gap attacking scheme but everything else was really really tame. Back in that GOAT run in the early 2000s we ran a ridiculous vanilla scheme, that was not aggressive. Just pointing it out cause I've seen it posted a few times.
 
Aggression is a function of philosophy/mentality, not scheme. Don't need a new scheme to be aggressive.

You dudes just better hope AQM, and the others that had to sit and watch the clown brigade this past season. Can make a huge difference in the defenses production, because Al isn't going to change ****.

I would like to see every defender on the field carrying a gun or a really long knife/sword. Would make it extremely hard for teams to go for 500 yds a game on us IMO

yeah but denzel has gotten better every year. better tackling, more explosive plays. that might help him into 2nd round.

Not sure why it'd be blasphemous...Miami won a National Title running a 425.
