Idk if anyone saw. Meriweather suspended for two games.

Idk if anyone saw the hit he layed on Torrey Smith. But it was bull****. Wasn't even helmet to helmet. Went right into his shoulder. Smith curled up into a ball during impact and slightly tapped Meriweathers helmet.

The league is becoming so pussified it's ridiculous. I know he has had some legit helmet to helmets in the past. But Jesus, they don't let this guy really play in the league. He has to hold back because he so aggressive on the field. Before all these rules were implemented back in the day, he would be the most feared hard hitting safety in the league. Now the guy has to be careful he's gonna get fined or suspended every time he cracks someone's spine on the field.

This one was beyond ridiculous. I think he got targeted this time on purpose. Call me crazy, I saw it and it was bull****.

It's sad IMO cause Meriweather a stud and can't catch a break with suspension and injuries the last two seasons and one of my personal favorite canes who have come through here and played in the league.

All I'm saying, NFL becoming a ***** sport slowly.

Their was a Texans safety the other day who did a legit helmet to helmet. And nothing, no fine or suspension. ******* unbelievable, their profiling Meriweather now, because he is known to be a viscious hitter on the field.

Not only that. How does Ray Rice get two game suspension only. After beating his wife. Come on man. Unreal.

i didnt see the merriweather hit but since he has the reputation if its a borderline hit he's gonna get suspended. the texans safety hit on welker looked clean you can see he hit him with his shoulder clearly

Youre saying the hit on Welker was helmet to helmet? I dont know, the Meriweather hit looks much worse to me. Meriweather took about a 5 yard run with his shoulder and head down without even looking to see if he was about to hit a guy in the head. The Swearinger hit on Welker was a quick shot where he was gonna blow him up but Welker decided to do his last minute sit down to avoid a hit and he got nailed in the head...it was definitely more bang-bang, nothing Swearinger could have done...Meriweather could have looked where he was going to avoid that hit. But I agree, defensive guys can do less and less each year it seems.

Regardless, is it worth a 2 game ban...the equivalent of Ray Rice's ban? No way.
