I just built a 24 man class (which is close to what i believe we end up with) using all FL kids, all of whom are south of Orlando.

QB A Edouard
RB S Michel, J Yearby
WR E Lane, J Dixon, T Rudolph
TE R Pierce
OL K McDermott, C Martinez, R Gibbons, N Linder, T Darling
DT K Clark, A Moten
DE K Brown, C Thomas
LB A Beck, D Bates, M Smith
CB C Lammons, T Washington
S Q Wilson, Q Flowers, T Harris

Pretty amazing actually how you can land an elite class with just these kids, and I didnt even include kids like Cook, N Patten, and several WRs with offers. Obviously we wont land everyone on this list and some will give us heartaches i'm sure, lol.

The only major issue here is safety, and only because none of the kids are pure safeties and safety is a huge need in this class.
The other less severe issue is at LB as i think it is a bigger need than many here believe (Both DP and EJ are potential early departures, for vastly different reasons of course) and i am not sure how talented those prospects i listed really are.

Along with safety and LB, i think OL, RB, and DT are the biggest needs in this class, and the list of kids above would be epic in meeting those needs.

That would have 4-5 5star players, a ton of 4stars and would possibly be the #1 class in the nation....

I glad you would "take it"

I think everyone would take that class, that's almost certainly the #1 class in the nation. We need a JUCO DT this year though.

Ermon Lane - gonna be a dog fight
Pierce - Not Sure about his recruitment right now
R. Gibbons - I don't think we get
Chad Thomas - Dogfight
D Bates - Def want him as a part of the class but just don't see it.
Q Wilson and T Harris - Who knows with their recruitment

I highly doubt those safeties end up here being that two seem to be dead set on being qb, and the other claims to be being recruited by Miami sometimes and on other occasions is not besides that looking good, I think for lb we should take mike smith and maybe we'll get Vincent Jackson from Tampa Jesuit, I heard he was close to Larry scott, bates would be a long shot but who knows

I don't think Harris or Wilson will ever get commitable offers from UM so their out. I think Gibbons goes to FSU, i think Bates goes SEC probably Tenn or UF, AND I think we land Thomas.

There are alot of "dogfights" in that group so we better get our money up and head to the kennel..Lane, Sony, Lammons (now that the word is out) , KBrown, and CThomas are gonna be rough. Smh. They are the type of recruits that will enjoy the attention. Every week there will be an update and a "new favorite team blah blah". I am bracing myself already not to get too high or too low. I think the only ones we can count on to keep it real and commit sort of early are Clark and McDermott. (Not including the guys who we have not offered supposedly. Or the guys who are already committed of course)

Almost every kid on that list Miami will be in a "dogfight" and that is what you want. Kids that are easy to get and keep are typically not that talented of course there are a few exceptions.

Yea, this is by no means a projected class. Just looking at the recruiting board and seeing just how loaded this class is, at least on paper and at least as of right now.

From that list above, kids that appear to be very likely to be Canes at this point:
Yearby
Clark
Darling
McDermott
Linder
M Smith (i think he gets offered eventually)

Leaning Canes:
Edouard
K Brown
C Thomas (i think he ends up here for some reason, in spite of Lice)

50/50:
Michel (I still think he ends up here for some reason)
Lane
Moten (is he going to be the next Keif?)
Lammons (if it was Coley that was on this kid for 3 years, he'd be a Cane lock, but Donofrio worries me)

Still possible:
Rudolph (i'm almost positive he will decommit at some point, the question is will he recommit?)
Gibbons (I want this kid bad, more than some of the other big name skill players everyone is enamored with, but he feels like an ND type kid for some reason:ohlord:)
Flowers (offer him as the second QB to Edouard)

Longshots:
Dixon (do the Gators still have a stronghold at Dwyer?)
T Harris (lol fat Lice's kid)
D Cook (Clem$$$on or the next highest bidder)
Q Wilson (should offer him as a safety now)

Guys like Trumaine Washington (does he have a commitable offer yet?), Pierce, Bates, Beck, Patton, and Martinez are ?? to me in terms of mutual interest.

You gonna need at least 4 DT's one of them a Juco and 4 linebackers

and one of them wont be BATES he aint walking through that door soon

Alin is all Cane, not leaning

If we land that class I would take back everything I said about the staff and its misses in the 2013 class.

Yea Hawaii I agree with you on Gibbons and that ND feel.

I don't think Moten is Keef tho. Never seen Aquinas kids play out their recruitment like that

Exactly, Alin is in it. He may be the Duke of this class. He is 1000% Cane. No ifs ands or buts about it.

As a followup to the initial post, this is the list of priority recruits for 2014. If we get these kids, everything else would be gravy.

Michel
Yearby
Lane
Darling
McDermott
Gibbons
Linder
K Clark
Moten
C Thomas
K Brown
Lammons
Q Wilson and another safety
Beck and another LB
1 K/P (if Barnard doesnt earn a schollie)

I would take this minimal barebones 17 man class (at least with respect to numbers and lack of elite OOS kids except potentially at LB and safety) and call it a day. This addresses every real need we have (RB, OL, DT, LB, and S), ignores QB and TE where we go like 9 deep, and cherry picks a few great prospects at other positions like WR, DE, and CB.
