I wish Richt hasn’t stepped down after 2018

The allowing of Richt to just hire 2 recent grad assistants that would have a hard time getting a high school job as his DC is WAY more insane than the no search and hiring of Manny. Fooking WILD man

I think he went that route because he had already made the decision he was retiring, and rather than tie somebody up with a new contract only to walk out it was easier just to make a administrative promotion and then let the next coach sort it out. And, it's still Blake James who f***** us.

If Richt would've switched to a full Spread offense & hired an OC after the 2017 season we would've been competing for the ACC in back to back seasons.

I remember all the wars we had on here amongst each other in the offseason heading into the 2018 season, there was a major spilt between people who thought we should stay pat with Rosier & keep doing the exact same thing we did in 2017 & the contingency of people who saw the impending doom that was about to happen by sticking with the 5th year Senior & keeping the offense the same.

Obviously he was going through some underlining health issues which pushed him to retire, but had he hired a Spread OC we would've been in a much better place than we are now, imo.

But the real fúck up was by that Double Agent prick Mangina James, he really messed up by hiring Diaz the way he did & not even interviewing another candidate.
Richts D wouid have been a disaster this year

This place is really being overwhelmed by trolls. They are sprouting up more and more by the day.

There is zero discussion about Canes football here anymore, only “We lost to FIU AND GT bro” Regurgitated over and over by the same dozen dudes or trolls looking to sabotage this place and the program.

The sabotage is already well under way. Blake is an expert.

But yeah, go ahead and blame the fans some more.

He’d have gone 6-6 or 7-5 with Banda and Patke as co-DCs, and gotten fired.

Manny meanwhile would have gone 3-9 or 2-10 at Temple.

And, therefore, we’d have hired somebody other than Manny as Richt’s replacement about a month ago.

Fire Richt with how many years left after his extension?

If richt stayed and had that heart attack still and manny did in fact leave who fills in as interim HC? Nobody on staff is qualified for that this past year

Really wish Butch hadn't left when he did. Problem solved.

This is one of the dumbest theories I have ever seen.

Richt didn’t make the decision he was going to retire until after the bowl game. He made the decision to promote Banda and Patke when he was still planning on returning for 2019. Had he been coach in 2019, Banda and Patkr would have been co-DCs. I don’t know what’s so hard for Richt fans like you to understand.

You do realize that Banda and Patke probably got paid for being co-DCs this year? Yes, in all likelihood, we were paying not 1, not 2, but 3 different people DC salaries in 2019. Baker, Banda and Patke. Even if co-DC salaies were only half as high as the salaries for regular DCs, that would still mean that Banda and Patke’s salaries together would be the same as a normal DCs.

If what you’re saying is true (which I seriously doubt), that means Richt really screwed Miami. He basically forced us to pay Banda and Patke DC salaries so that he could postpone his retirement announcement until after the bowl game.

Schiano - Gleeson would be in Coral Gables instead of NJ

That might not be true. Schiano already chose Rutgers over Miami after Coker got fired in 2006. Schiano seems like he might actually prefer Rutgers over Miami, for some reason.

And I’d prefer Schiano as coach over Manny, which isn’t saying a lot.
