Holy **** what a change from a year ago. I mean this is a 180 degree change. Yes weve had some blunders, but but they played a **** of a game today. Made the KEY stops they needed to. Sacks, turnovers, a pick six. This was the WORST defense Miami has ever had last year. And this year we are f*cking BALLING. To all those who urged patience and said give the man a chance, you can say "I told you so". This man can flat out COACH when he has the personnel. A solid DL and we are punching people in the MOUTH again. If not for some horrible offensive blunders, we crush these chumps today by 30 points. And this is a team that always plays us hard, even though we have beaten them a bunch the last few years.

LOT of football left to play, but this defense is like a NEW team. I mean you the HITTING, that hit by TMC today brought a TEAR to my eye. That was some Jon Vilma, Michael Barrow type sh*t right there. Our DBs are locking teams down. Our LBs are flat out KILLING people. Chick had a **** of a second half today after having some issues early.

GREAT adjustments, and GREAT conditioning.

THIS is what having a REAL coach can do for a program. Its the LITTLE things. As I said til I was blue in the face during the Shannon and Coker era. Its the FUNDEMENTALS. Tackling, conditioning, blocking, you build it from the ground up. That is what Jimmy preached, that is what Butch was great at. AG is building a f*cking MONSTER here. Man if we can keep this guy, some continuity on the staff, not get raped by the NCAA, and get the players we need, AG is going to build a DYNASTY here.

I don't think the D that was that bad actually. When you're on the field almost a full 30 minutes in a half, you're going to give up some yards. We essentially shut them down in the second half (not counting that GT touchdown in garbage time).

Plenty of room for improvement but not a bad game overall.

Um, wasn't please with the defense overall, BUT I will say that I was impressed with the halftime adjustments on defense that D'Onofrio made.

That was your definition of a "**** of a game?"

175 yards first quarter
200 balance of game, 50 last drive

If our O didnt turn it over time after time, they would have blown the doors open
They started in UM territory some 4 or 5 straight drives, and only got point on one
Thats stepping up

not thrilled but I believe they only scored 1 TD off a TO and that BS TD off of garbage time that should of never happened in the second half

lets remember where we were last year, I'll excited going forward

all in all, decent game. Will play better against traditional offense's, also keep in mind that 2 of our biggest play makers on D didnt get burn

oh and Kacy still sucks

Don't too many teams do that well against a triple option team like GT... The offense has to put up points then make them come out of what they want to do, so that being said the Defense made great adjustments after halftime . They played the way they were suppose to the second half. Plus we didn't turn the ball over second half but that Dorsett punt muff.

You guys seem to forget that we have them a short field like THREE times in the first half. And when you play a gimmick offense like GT, they ALWAYS have success early until you key in on your assignments and adjust to shut them down. If they DIDNT have some success with it, no one would ever run it.

The D stepped up when it counted today. And played a GREAT second half. I mean this wasnt Savannah State we were playing today. GT always comes to play us tough. And their offense does run up a lot of yards by its nature.

Think about where we were a year ago, vs where we are right now. This game could have gotten away from us early with all our mistakes if not for the D coming up with some key stops. And we shut those f*ckers down in the second half. The D won us the Florida game too.

No we are not at the level of our greatest Defenses ever, but to think of where we have come from last year?? We had the WORST defense in modern history at UM last year, and this year has been an EPIC improvement.

Id say that is a **** of an improvment and job by the coaches.

I get it, but that's not what I would call a **** of a game.

Gt had extra time to work on our defense and to throw in some wrinkles, they played a very good game. Also we were limited in our rotation.

You can't forget the first quarter, but we gave up 400 yards, and 190 of it were in the first quarter, and 50 came in the last 50 seconds when it was 45-23. The defense made adjustments, and also stopped them 2? 3? times when they started on our side of the field with the game tied.

Defense did a good job.

Georgia Tech doesn't average 300+ yards rushing by accident.

We settled down and got the crucial stops when we needed them. And the complexion of the game probably changes significantly without the turnovers. The two first quarter turnovers left our defense on the field for a long *** time, and gave Georgia Tech short fields. The 2nd pick took at least 3 points off the board, and the muff killed our momentum and gave Georgia Tech a short field. There were also a few HORRIBLE spots that kept Georgia Tech drives alive.

Well I for one went on record at the beginning of the season saying we would only lose to georgia tech and florida all year. I thought those were our two toughest matchups.

Happy to report I was 0-2 on that one.

Now FSU concerns me a bit more because of their qb, but this was our biggest test in the coastal imo and I'm pretty happy we came out with the W.

Not true. Morris threw a pick in the second half.
