I've posted a few times that I didn't think it was worth it to offer Mackenro in order to get Mackensie because of the small class, but I think my opinion on that has changed.
With the commitments of Carter and Burns this week, I still think we could use another safety in the class and one elite corner (if he wanted in). Since VH3 is off the table and Robinson is a long shot, Mackensie is the only one of these top-level corners there is still a legit chance with. It has been well-known that the two brothers want to try to play together, but Mackenro doesn't have an offer from Miami, even though Mackensie is still considering the Canes.
My thinking on this is the following: If they offer Mackenro the chances for both of them obviously skyrocket. Now let's say they both pick Miami. That would fill the need for another safety in the class and the elite corner so they would kill 2 birds with one stone. I have also posted that I wasn't sure if Mackenro was Miami material, but after talking to a few people, they think he is much better than people give him credit for. It wouldn't be as much of a risk as it would have been, let's say, a month ago, because there are now two big safety commits.
