I think that the Pop-Tart Bowl is going to ***** up bowl games for a while.

Casual

Right now, every executive from every company that sponsors a bowl game is wondering how Pop-Tarts have managed to get everyone to buy into the sponsorship 100%. I'm worried that every single one of them right now is learning the wrong lesson and assuming that we want their ****** product/service front and center in the same way that we're okay with Pop-Tart doing.

I don't want TaxSlayer to take over the Gator Bowl, for instance. There's enough lack of interest in these games as it is.

I can't follow this at all. What is the point? What am I missing?

They weren’t just a name as a bowl sponsor. The entire night became about pop tarts.

Makes no sense. Pop-Tarts is being lauded for doing such a great job and can thank Miami & ISU for record viewership too from what I read.
Helluva way to end the year for their marketing team.

I had two of my daughter's friends tell me they bought Pop-Tarts after watching the game, "we kinda forgot about them"

That subreddit is full of the dumbest, and ***** casuals of all time.

What they're trying to say is that the sponsors won't take a backseat in games and will want to be more involved with the production of the on field product, which I don't necessarily see as a bad thing, but I'm not so sure how it would work out for things like the tax slayer bowl. What I think is more important is raising the win threshold for bowl games.

I thought it was funny as **** seeing the pop tarts tear out of their wrappers, sideline reporters in poptart costumes, and the toaster trophy spit out the pastries on the floor in the booth.

I'm hoping they sponsor the national title game next year.

I loved what they did, but it works because Pop Tarts has always tried to brand itself a bit silly and fun. I can understand the concern with brands that aren't naturally that trying to mimic it and making the game about their brand.

With that said, these companies pay a lot of money to put their name in the title, so they kinda have every right to make sure their product is fully recognized.

The football game was a long commercial for Pop-Tarts. And they took a breakfast treat and somehow managed to squeeze into every possible corner of the bowl experience. It was impressively successful marketing.
But of course it requires the right product to really be able to do more than just show standard commercials of sponsor’s product or service.
But credit to Pop-Tarts for making the most of their dollars spent.

They are a great sponsor and it’s a top game if you don’t make the CFP. Unfortunately UM f’d it up while telling fans (suckers who bought tickets) that the star players were playing and then pulled the rug out from under everyone after the game began. Total PR disaster. The very clever sponsor deserved better.

Some of these games that I have watched would be better sponsored by preparation h
