I think Safety is a tougher position for a Freshman. Freshman CB's, we can just play man when they are in, and its not a huge adjustment for them other than talent level. Safety has bigger mistakes to make. Look at Reyshawn Jenkins last year. He looked like a really promising athlete but made 2 crucial mistakes against Duke that cost you games against teams of comparable ability. They are doing what they should, trying to get him some special teams burn and letting him grow in practice. Just because we've been so thin for years, we've seen a lot of freshman play, but I think in JC's case, it says more about the guys in front of him than anything.
