I think we are going to hold UNC under 350 yards and have at least 3 sacks.

I'm rewatching the ND game and I can actually see improvement from earlier this season. In the first half we were getting pressure on the qb, getting into the back field, and overall looked better. It almost looks like we are just a tick away from putting together a solid game. The running qb got us against ND but UNC doesn't have that.

Call me stupid or crazy but I'm going all in on the D getting it together this weekend.

I said it in the More You Know thread, this will be our most complete and best game as a team. Defense will play really well and the offense will click.

Holy $#!t guys, I hope like Hades you're right.

This roller coaster has been most frustrating, and yes, I suppose I live vicariously through my Hurricanes.

I'd give D'Onofrio some advice for this week, but I have a feeling that instruction on how to effectively set the head space on a Browning M2 .50 calilber machine gun won't help.

I saw some signs in the first half as well....but that 2nd half crushed any new found confidence I may have gained.

Luther Robinson in particular came flying through the line on a couple of occassions. I'm pretty sure that was the first sign of life from the D Line all season. If he can provide us with some pocket collapsing pressure up the middle it would be huge.

Not holding my breath though.

Well then I'm sure we won't see Luther this week. Penetration from the DT's is not tolerated by Coach D. 2 Gap control is all that will be tolerated

I don't know about total yards or total sacks, but I do think that the Canes will win this game. One of the advantages this young team has displayed for most of the year is the ability to play fast, less KSU and to a degree ND. Personally, I think this up tempo will have an affect on UNC along with the hotter temperatures. Also, lets not forget that UNC has played their worse on the road.

Win or lose, I'm standing by this young team. There is lots of promise and if you didn't think that the season was going to be a roller coaster, then you're kidding yourselves. Come on, stand by your Canes!

We are going to win this Saturday! 37-24!

Go Canes!

Other than VT, who is suspect this year, who has UNC beaten? They are just another mediocre ACC team. Having said that, I do think it will be a competitive game, and hopefully the heat does play in our favor and wears them out.

My uncle Waldo was a child in Berlin during the war. One day, after allied bombers had hit the city 138 days in a row, Waldo said "call me stupid or crazy, but I don't think we will be bombed today. Waldo was wrong. A bomb from an RAF Lancaster fell on his block, killing him and most of his family.

True story.

Bold...bold would throwing 50% of your next paycheck on your prediction and actually paying if you are wrong. Otherwise, you just throwing one possible option out there. If you're wrong, so what?

The game you're speaking of will be the VT game, IMO. UNC and FSU have MUCH better offenses than ND and neither one of them will struggle to move the ball on us.

UNC is on par with NCST on O, so its hard to predict a great game from our D, but ****, they need to have a bounce back game where, regardless of yards, they hold them under 20 points.

Golden said it best...no one has more desire than D'O on getting the D turned around. Saturday will be a solid day for the U.

I don't think the defense played poorly in the first half... the second half it all went to ****.. but with some catches on O that could have been a a 14-13 / 17-13 game at half...

Did you ever think you'd see a Miami fan making that statement? Holy **** we've fallen hard.
