I hate to be that guy but...

We currently have the 13th rated class by star average per Rivals

No, but we just need more recruits.
To put it in perspective, if we just had 1 committed recruit, and he was a 5*, we would be 1st in star average.

Unfortunately, we're tied for last among the top 50 with # of recruits committed.

I get how that looks but it's not all about how many recruits we get this year. It's about recruiting in the positions that we need go forward. I'd rather have 20 commits in positions of need than 26 commits just so we can reach a certain number. Let's see how things end up. i'm still hopeful that we get over 20 commits before it's all said and done in February.

Need a QB -- Don't have one
Would like 1 RB, but not a need -- Don't have one
Need at least 2 WR's, preferably 3 -- Only have 1
Need at least 3 OL, preferably 4 -- Only have 1
Need at least 1 TE -- Have 1
Need at least 3 Edge -- Have 2
Need at least 3 DT -- Have 3
Need at least 3 LB -- Have 3
Need at least 3 CB -- Have 2
Need at least 2 S -- Have 1
Need at least 1 P -- Have 1

So they need to get a QB ASAP
Would love MAR
Need Haselwood, Dunmore, or Jones. Preferably 2
Need at least 2 more OL
Need at least 1 more Edge (Bogle, Summerall)
Need to replace Solomon if he flips, if not you stand pat
Need 1 more CB (Elam, Dixon)
Need 1 more S (Stevenson)

There are a lot of targets right there who are really high-profile, impact kids that Miami is smack in the middle of the game for. This class can be excellent (Haselwood, Bogle, MAR, Stevenson, Zipp, Summerall, Smith, Elam, etc) or it can be downright terrible (whiff on all the aforementioned). I'm hoping for somewhere in the middle. Get half of the kids I mentioned and it's a Top 15 class with most of the needs filled outside of QB.

Got 2 months to get it done. Get it done.

Agree.
I'm not a numbers guy either. But we need quality in numbers.
What that "average star rating" also says is if we keep recruiting at the same level and get to 25, we'll be a fringe top-10 recruiting class.
Given where we were, I'll take it.

Solomon will decommit and we will sign a few more 3* to drop that star average
1 low 3* center committed on the offensive line when we desperately need quality tackles
0 QB commitments with a sh*t show QB room
0 Offensive Coordinator commitments
0 OL coach commitments
0 QB coach commitments

There's no bigger star ***** than me, but on the OL it really doesn't matter much. It's the hardest position to project, outside of QB.

The first-team All-America team was released at noon. 2 of the 5 kids on the OL were 3-star recruits.

NOW....a lower ranked kid AND being coached by Searles may not be conducive to producing excellent linemen. But you're ****ting on the kid and the staff saying a low 3* center.......just say a center. He may turn out to be really good, he may not. Him being 3* will not dictate that.

Yes we know! Let's see how it finishes out. If we can land Kennedy and get some other transfers/3* players to flip, we will be okay. I project our starting five to be Boulware, Gaynor, Donaldson, Scaife and a LT. Our backups will be Reed, Dykstra, Herbert, Mahoney, Brown. We need three commits and we have 1. I have faith the staff will find two more commits before February. Then we need to develop what we have which is the hardest part because I don't have faith in Searels. However, with that starting five, we should be able to take on a weak ACC schedule.

Rankings are just a projection, not a guarantee. He is an 83/82 on 247, which is considered a low 3 star recruit.

I hope he outperforms his current ranking in college, because we will need him to

This is a problem. A lot of our highly-rated recruits are still out there. I think we get some of them and our ranking rises. We won NC's built on Jimmy Johnson classes ranked in the 20's. JJ and Butch evaluated better and were great at making our recruits better once they got on the practice field.

Its tragic how wrapped up you are in your own world

I guess you constantly had issues with needs and wants growing up.

Wow. My shrink says the same thing all the time. Do you have a psychology degree? Fascinating that you could deduce that from a message board post, but you nailed it.

Think your sister could help me out with my other wants and needs?

Absolutely, she would treat you like the ***** you are.

You half-wit bigots enjoy that stuff, in all of your mediocrity and saddened, softened pussified state.
