I gotz to give props to the defense

Lights out? Um, no.

But made big stops all day. Ga Tech's first 2 of 3 touchdowns came on very short fields.

But they held them when they needed to...especially on that 4th down in OT.

They had some lapses, especially in the second and beginning the third. But they did an overall good job against the option and were very tough in short yardage. I liked what I saw.
 
As soon as the offense put a drive together in the 3rd quarter....the defense came out and played much better.
 
Fellas this D, Grimble and Robinson stonewalled GT on the goaline to win this game. That is what won the game.

this group will never be light out this year. they still made the mistakes you expect rookies to make, but they also had something like 8 or 10 TFL. finnie had an awful game and gaines was out of position more often than not, and we even had to resort to a walkon playing LB, but there were alot of positives. there were alot of signs that this young group has learned something during the first 1/4 of the season. I still dont expect them to go out and be able to dominate teams like ND and FSU, because we simply arent that good yet, but the signs today show that we should at least be able to hold our own. even if we didnt win, today was very positive in many ways.
 
This was a tough game to judge them... Clearly youth shows, but they are making baby steps!!! If they can keep improving, things can turnout pretty good for us! You do realize we were missing 3 opening day starters right? **** of a win and great effort by the defense!!!

everyones dealing with injurys at this point of the season no matter who you are in the country.

but i dont even think it mattered you clearly saw the team grow up and fight for that win in the 4th. and mike james said jump on my back ill drive

Somehow, I doubt many good teams are playing walkons at LB

Fentress did good though
 
I will take Fentress' heart and work ethic any day of the week.Guys are right,Defense stepped up when they needed too and we won,that's all that counts.**** talking about yards given up,it's all about winning and points.
 
They're making strides, yes they didn't get takeaways and Tess they gave up a **** load of yards but they made huge stops and got a lot more tackles for loss

Fentress is a guy who brought the heat today. he had that critical rush on tevin causing a errant throw.
 
Solid heart shown by the Defense today. Those kids could have folded when we went down 36-19 on the road. They hung tough and made some key stops. We had some young guys really step up today.

Props to Bush and McGee, were doing a really solid job containing the outside and making tackles. Chick also had a **** of a game.

These kids are going to get better and better.
