Huggins

Mainland produces some ballers that can't be taken for granted. Their players rarely bust or flake out.

Still like Keidron Smith better if we're going the bigger/hybrid DB route. If we're just gonna get the best player we need to go after Asante

Honestly there's 3-4 guys I like better than Huggins that would probably flip on the spot.. Stanley Garner, Trenell Troutman, Miguel Edwards, and Smith.

Bet the same people saying Huggins is too slow, were the same that said Derek Smith couldnt play here either.

I think Smith is faster then Huggins but Smith got ABUSED vs Clemson after he came in for Bandy.
Also Derrick Smith hasn't shown anything thus far that would justify him not being slow or fast really.

Well 1. Derrick Smith should never be playing the slot/nickel against speedy slot wr's like clemson but that's where we are at right now with depth. We are clearly fixing that with this recruiting class whether Jobe or Huggins come or not. 2. As a recruit we should have all known he was more of an in box safety. He showed flashes this yr of his ability and being able to play. 3. Like someone else stated he is a freshman... remember when Jaquan was a freshman and everyone was questioning his speed/ability too? Remember how terrible Redwine was as a freshman?

My overall point is that yes Huggins is clearly not a speedster, but he has plenty ability and can play in the box for us down the line IMO. Oo and lastly he's not a female dog like Jobe.

Before y’all start throwing in the towel on Huggins, just remember that he was the guy Ed Reed sung praises about at the Paradise Camp. If Ed likes him, he can’t be that bad.

A db class of garner, Edwards, troutman, smith, Huggins, and divaad could EASILY end up better than a db class of jobe, Tyson, surtain, hall, Samuel, and frierson.

This is why getting all hot and bothered over which specific Florida stud we get at db is utterly retarded. once you reach a minimum level of athlete from Florida, it's a mfing crapshoot as to who will produce better in college.

There are literally 20 dbs from Florida this year that are interchangeable when it comes to college production potential.

Most pure CB is definitely Keidron Smith and next is Miguel Edwards who has the hips for the position. Just needs to get more physical. Troutman is a rangy safety, too stiff to play CB. STA just put him in center field and let him make plays. He does a little bit of everything. Staff likes longer safeties and he's 5'10 maybe 5'11.

Garner is long but pretty fluid... he's just not physical enough but his ceiling is off the charts. Needs to learn how to tackle, get taught some technique, and get in the weightroom. I watched his film the other day and I honestly think he took a step back from last year.

Honestly after watching some of their senior tape I'd say Huggins fits right up there with Smith for our needs. I was disappointed with what I watched from Garner.. Huggins is more college ready than Edwards (wish Edwards wasn't going to Oklahoma he needs to go somewhere that actually plays defense that he can showcase skills at) and Troutman just doesn't fit what the staff wants.
