Will this be our BEST team of this decade? The NEW 2017? 2017 PUNCHED above its weight. Will we look back and THINK what could’ve been?

This season was about Cam Ward. The team had too many holes and bad coaches to be a real national title contender. It would have been nice to win the ACC but I think SMU would have thoroughly embarrassed Guidrys defense. What we needed was Ward to show QBs that UM is a destination that can still get them national attention. He won the award for best QB, got a Heisman invite, and could be the #1 pick in the draft. It all worked out about as well as I could have hoped.

We need a top QB to be competitive as there are still issues with the roster (I will skip criticism of Cristobal’s ****ty evals for now). When the NIL rules changed I thought UM’s fastest path to relevance would to be like Lincoln Riley’s Oklahoma squads. They got multiple transfer QBs who ended up Heisman candidates and winners. We needed that proof of concept. And it worked. If we get Mateer, he will be the QB for 2 years and I think we win a national title in his second year (2026).

Obviously it depends on getting Mateer, but if it happens I will look fondly on this season as the one where Cam Ward put UM back on the map and set up our championship run.

To be fair, I picked us to go 8-4 this year, so the team exceeded my expectations. Of coursse, there was disappointment when the ACCCG and a playoff spot was on the line and we didn’t get it done. If we winthe bowl game it will be a season that we moved forward, 11-2 with a bowl win is nothing to sneeze at. So, there’s that. The individual performances of X, Cam, and Fletch given his family circumstances will stick with me.

If Cam is an above average NFL QB they’ll talk about how we wasted a great QB with horrendous coaching and a tough guy HC who turns out wasn’t tough whatsoever
 
Got **** I'm about tired of the mope parade and the season isn't even over yet. I'll remember the season as a success compared to what I've gone thru for the last 20 years. I'll remember going to a game in the swamp, swapped beer for sweat and watched my favorite team beat the ******* dog **** outta the team I hate the most. I'll remember the 21 point comeback against Cal that I hate watched most of. I'll remember stomping out our **** talking little ******* brothers who like to wear skirts and identify as a girl Indian. I'll remember Cam Ward looking like the best Hurricane QB I've ever seen. I'll remember X breaking records and making sick ******* catches. I'll remember Fletch pointing at the sky after scoring a touchdown, knowing why, and feeling it in my heart. Yeah I'll remember gt and syracuse, missing the acccg, and getting left out of the playoffs. Whatever. I'll remember the good **** because I don't need to cry about **** when there's plenty of good to celebrate.

ok, y'all can get back to plastering the same bleeding ****** **** in every single thread no matter the subject.
