How the mighty ACC has fallen (hoops edition)....

Honestly the ACC used to be the best in basketball and baseball but it has fallen off significantly in both. The conference is just not very good at men’s sports anymore.

ACC has the most final four teams since 2015 and has generally outperformed in March.

Some of the perception of ACC basketball is driven by computer algorithms that see basketball as a beauty contest rather than a W-L competition.

Edit: And the league is not just Duke and NC as portrayed by many… FIVE different ACC programs have made the final four since 2015.

with all the transfers that have occurred, it's a guessing game. Who knows really how good or bad these teams will be. We've got 10 new players, each has something to bring to the table. The key is chemistry.

They had 4 teams in the College War series last year. You really arguing the ACC's performance in March Mad the last 3 years?

That’s a very fair point. I guess what I was trying to say was in the eyes of the pollsters and in terms of rankings and traditional powers.

Just in basketball Louisville, Syracuse, Wake, and ND are no longer national powers. The ACC has transitioned into a conference of fringe top 25 teams that make post season runs. In both baseball and basketball. (Obviously besides Duke and UNC in basketball)

Because the pollsters and national media undervalues the league, period. The league has proven them wrong the last 3 years.
