How many do we sign. Maybe the most important class ever 🙌

Any discussion of next's year's roster that does not include McIntosh entering early (along with Walton) and at least acknowledge the strong possibility of Norton and/or M. Jackson doing the same is just wishful thinking. Hope I'm wrong, though.

RJ McIntosh may be gone with a big game saturday

think he's the only one that could go outside of walton who may do it for money reasons (or to be honest with homer/lingard/dallas walton may see a diminished role and want to leave on a high note)

Currently, we only need 19 to get to 85 for next year since we have 75 this year and only 9 seniors. However, we will need one for every RJr Grad Transfer, early NFL entry, or transfer so the class will most likely end up been full. My guess is 25-28.

Ideally only Mark Walton declares early for the draft. Then some/all of these guys Transfer: Jahair Jones (JR), Terry McCray (RS JR), Bar Milo (RS SO), George Brown Jr (RS SO), Ryan Fines (RS SO), Robert Knowles (RS SO), Romeo Finley (SO). That would give us 30 Scholarships to work with for this year. However I think that we will basically have a recruiting class of 25 or 26, so with the players I listed there's room to keep a few for another year for depth purposes and/or if more players declare early for the draft. We currently have 18 commits with room for about 7/8 more:

QB - 1: Jarren Williams is definitely our top target. If we miss out on him Maybe we'll get a south florida kid or something.

RB - 0: Lingard and Davis are enough.

WR - 0/1: I think we're good with the 3 we have. And even with Mullins leaving and Berrios transferring, we are solid here. But if Harris Grad Transfers or Cager transfers out I think we should definitely add another WR to this class.

TE - -0: Either we need a grad transfer or to just stick with who we got and hope for the best. Luckily Jordan and Mallory are basically the top 2 TE's in HS.

OL - 1: Definitely need to add one more OL to this class.

DL - 2/3: Andrew Chatfield, and one to two DTs.

LB - 2: Joyner is entering commit or get left behind time, probably got till our last game to get something happen. I like Abdullah personally. Don't think we have a shot at Rosendo Louis. And we should go after Bonnito at this point.

CB - 1: Hopefully we finish with Tyson Campbell and just hold on to our current guys.

19 openings + your transfers (7) + Walton leaving = 27

I was going off eligibility chart which shows we have 64 players returning, which would mean we have 21 open spots next year. Then walton leaving and 7 transfers would equal 29. Then Dionte mullins off the team would make 30.

RJ Mcintosh - He gone. Going get paid serious bank. I would love for him to come back, but he earned it.

I mean theres a strong possibility that they all leave early for sure.

Walton would be making a mistake if he didn't leave early imo. For RBs especially, if you are going to be drafted, even if its as a 5th/6th round pick (due to his injury) thats better than waiting another year and potentially sliding in the draft. RBs need to get in the NFL as quickly as possible.

But fact is Norton has not had a season that should lead him to declare early. And Barry Jackson reported like last week or so ago that UM is mostly worried that Norton will declare early and because RJ and he are roommates, that will also push RJ to leave early too. So I think because Norton hasn't had a great season, hopefully that will keep him here another year, and by him staying hopefully RJ will stay another year also. Losing Both would be bad. But losing just RJ McIntosh would actually be better than just losing Norton imo. McIntosh is better but his position is easier for us to fill. Gerald Willis imo will be a beast at the 3tech spot next year. But the 1 tech spot that Norton plays isn't looking good for us unless Nesta is ready day 1 or we get a grad transfer/juco.

Michael Jackson has had a great year, but he really hasn't received any draft attention. I think he should be getting some because he's been playing very well. Plus this is a really weak CB class, so if he did declare early I think he could get drafted. I think vs ND and Clemson if he has impactful games he should declare early. Luckily we are bringing in 6 absolute studs to pair with Young, Bandy, and Dean. So I'm not too worried about CB.

Just looking at the non-verbals who are attending our games, coaches appear to be targeting 25-27, not 30. Maybe we get an elite national kid like Trout. Or maybe Surtain swings to us (how awesome would that be!). Barring that, I doubt we go above 27.

I say we tell RJ we will add his bro to our class tomorrow if he stays another year! Lol though I think his bro is only a jr? So maybe that incentive won’t work to keep him here. In all honesty, he and Norton should go. They have earned it. They will be top 2-3 round guys I would think. RJ may even get into the first round.

Jackson likely won't considering he only has 1 year of good film for scouts. He has 1st/2nd round potential, but he's not going there off one good year.

McIntosh is gone. I don't need Pete to tell me that. That kid's been in the backfield so much he's having his mail forwarded there.

Norton *should* come back. But I think he gets a 4th round draft grade which he might think is good enough for him to leave. Pete mentioned he was leaning towards leaving. If either Norton or McIntosh comes back, I'm not overly concerned with depth.

We're already recruiting his brother and he's a '19 recruit. Norton's not going to be a 2nd/3rd round guy. McIntosh likely will though. It's not about deserving to be in the NFL, its about leaving at the right time. For McIntosh it is. For Norton, I think he'd be leaving too early.

I just think in Nortons case. Its different, he's a 1 technique guy.. they are much more few and far between. He's been very tough against the run, has shown the ability to pass rush from that spot. I think he might just grade out higher than you think. Maybe I'm wrong. Thats just how I feel about him. And I am obviously a bit biased, and don't watch a lot of other teams so maybe there are more big uglies out there that will rate much higher than him. I just think given the draft/nfl need for DT I think he would end up going pretty early..

It's debatable, certainly. Hopefully this is something we won't be able to find out in the upcoming draft (because he comes back).

Kind of off-topic, but I think it's really a testament to how well Richt is doing this year considering how undermanned we are from the various scholarship reductions over the last half decade.

Exciting to see what heights we'll climb with a full roster.

We have plenty of room in the class. Kids transfer, leave early, get kicked out. We'll probably take 24--26 kids in the class, and have a few open spots left anyhow for late additions.

Opposite way around....this draft is deep with 3-Techs but lacks 1-techs
