Not talking about based off of this year.......
But you guys who are locals, on the camp circuit, coaches, family members or other folks actively involved in south Florida sports scene.
What have you heard from a kids own mouth when it comes to Miami From 2005-2019?
Just an observation from me. Kids born in 2000 and up haven’t witnessed a dominant Miami team. Combined with the street agents, Miami rejecting certain kids or not recruiting certain kids, souring relationships with 7 on 7 coaches or entire families, it seems that maybe times are changing.
It appears that we have burned many bridges within out home turf. Not just with coaches but entire families and then when the next south Florida stud is a previous kid we rejecteds brother, cousin, nephew, or whatever we are automatically counted out based off whatever the reason was that someone else didn’t come here. (See Wilson Family, See Henderson Family, Mullen family, Cook Family and Countless others)
To watch a guy like Dalvin Cook score in his city and flip the U down and throw up 305.....what causes this type of hatred?
It’s bad enough driving around south Florida and seeing so much UFAG and FSU **** on people’s cribs and cars even in the hoods down there.
It’s been so many years with many kids balling and making it to the league from other schools down there. Many of the still active in their communities. (See Bridgewater and Freeman doing giveaways and school supplies in the hood)
These guys still have friends and family they grew up with in those communities. Y’all don’t think they talk? Then they get to talking about how their college experiences went with other top athletes and help low key aid kids minds into not wanting to be here.
You can talk here about previous kids that are at other schools, the league, coming up, or whatever here anonymously don’t have to state the kids name or year they were coming out.
I just want to know for those connected what’s some things you heard a kid or kids say directly and how can we fix it as a unit, community, family.
(We will always land some good local guys who just want to be near the house. That happens to every school everywhere. Even Pitt has pulled some local top 100 players and a couple 5 stars who just wanted to stay home.)
But for the ones who are leaving. How do we stop 15 years of bleeding?
