Forget about who the starting QB us for a minute and start thinking about the O-line. Come Labor Day this group better be ready to road grade up and down the ****** field. We don't need a world beater at the helm if we can come out and dominate at the LOS. Duke will get his if we can open holes. I'm more worried about thjs group then the QB right now. If we can get a badass Oline we will win most games just on our run game alone. My biggest guess sleeper this year is Gus. I really think he's gonna be an excellent compliment to Duke and our run game. His body looks completely different from last year. He's ripped and a lot faster.

OLine has been a disappointment for years. I like our depth this year but the right side, and McDermott are big question marks. I tend to agree with you about Gus. He just looked tentative at times last year and didn't utilize his gifts but if you watched him in high school he was anything but. Another year should help that.

This... Also dont forget about yearby...If he is back from that ankle injury..Can you imagine him in the screen game?? HIs vision and change of direction is nasty...

How bout Coach Kehoe have them perform somewhere in our neighborhood of expectations this year? I love the guy but last year's showing by a unit that was supposed to be the strength of the team was beyond disappointing.

I was more impressed with Tucker during the Spring game than I was with Gus. Agree with JHall about the OL. I think it would help them if we were a more downhill running team, if our OC established an offensive identity, and if Kehoe kept the same guys in the same positions - as much as possible.

Walter Tucker could surprise us, too. He is pretty fast for a full back.

Agreed, our OL is going to be be bigger and stronger than a almost everyone on our schedule. They have to go out there and play like it now. Not just Mongo and Flowers, but collectively.

Just think we start off at a disadvantage with McDermott in there. I've heard all the excuses and what not, but I've never seen him play a very good game so until that happens, consider me a skeptic. I think Isadora is going to be good and I've made no secrets about what I think of Gall, but I'm not sure if they are quite ready. Gadbois is another. Gigantic and can move well, but lots of questions outside of Flowers and Feliciano.

I think we'll see a lot of ball control type offense this year. Morris liked to take shots, and while that worked at times, Heaps/Williams seem to be the type to throw it underneath and take what the defense gives them.

Should be interesting to hear the feedback during camp, I know there was concern about the right side of the line coming out of spring

Taking your shots down field and picking up third downs to keep a drive alive are not mutually exclusive. They were when Morris was the QB.

Pick your spots for the big play opportunity. Otherwise, keep moving the ball down field (1st downs) Let's hope Heaps or Williams can do that. I'm cautiously optimistic

OL has supposed to have been a strength for a long time and they have gotten dominated in big games for a long time now. Hope that changes this year

Idk about you guys but our oline was the one that carried us to win the North Carolina game. They stepped up when we needed them.

I disagree. I think Isidora and Gadbois will be better than people think, provided both can stay healthy.

The only guy im confident in is flowers, the rest eh

Feliciano is a good guard and is very good pulling in our zone schemes and perimeter runs/screens. Our left side is solid. I kind of hope we don't see to much substituting this year, personally. It's good for depth but an O-line is usually a unit that needs to get clicking together. I think we should leaver our guys in together unless one is clearly struggling.

I agree with this but don't know if it is Art or not. He always took best and rode them. Al like to play lots of guys at multiple positions. Art is not about to fight him on it. Not sure, but might be Al's doing. Guards and Centers need to get under people on short yardage. Guys who play tackle tend to be tall.
