Well, you are gonna have to include the 2011 class as well........
2012 and 2013 give this team top 15 talent, but lacked DTs, still they are decent. 2014 is a great class though.......

More excuses. Enough already.

I'm sure in 1997 you wanted to fire Butch lol

2010 and 20111 were both wasted years as far as getting talent in the program goes. Our talent is still young, and we have another year or two of that being an excuse unfortunately. Hopefully this is the class where we can redshirt a good chunk of these kids because thats when you really build depth and continuity.

2012 has no shortage of duds and misses. And 2012 and 2013 combined have contributed 0 useful DT's so our massive hole will unfortunately remain our massive hole for at least another 2 years. Thats really the only knock I have on Golden's staff as far as recruiting goes. Don't know how Keef and Bostwick was the only options at DT last year, and 2012 was filled with horrible evals at DT.

The 'cloud' is an excuse but it is legit to a certain extent. It shut us out completely with most OOS kids, and there were only so many kids really worth an offer last year here. Look at 2012, we got bodies and they were all duds. But I agree the lack of DTs have really set us back, but I guess we gotta hope Al will uncover some kids that are at least adequate, because the rest of the roster is at worse #3 in the ACC behind Clemson and FSU. We can and still should improve next year. Remember yeah, we lose Renfrow, Porter, and Luther, but those guys arent exactly world beaters, and Renfrow couldnt even start at UVA....

So do we just keep giving Golden and staff a pass until he gets DT's? That's his own **** fault for not getting any. Even a couple 3 stars would have at least stopped the bleeding. Since when do we need a team full of 5 star talent just to be competitive?

You do realize that there are 4 DT's committed right now

When you have our DC, you will need 5* to be average.

What exactly does that have to do with the last 3 years? Do you give him a complete pass on that?

You missed the point. The point is Golden should have settled for some 3 stars that year just for depth and talent purposes to fill that gap until he could get the elite guys. Instead, he took none, because he couldn't just settle for something a little lower than 4 and 5 stars. Any other coach, everyone would have blamed the coach. You think Randy got a pass for missing on certain positions?

This is my concern. We're in year 3 and execution wise, we've shown no improvement in most areas, and even a decline in some. I'm afraid of Al getting these great classes and then letting them rot away with poor player development. I'm afraid of us wasting another 4 years waiting for this class to be seniors only to watch them flail around the field and give up 500 yards a game. Maybe they'll only give up 450 a game since they are better talent, because I doubt our scheme is going to get better. Are we going to keep blaming Randy in year 7 or maybe we can keep saying we've recruited nothing but busts after 7 years of top 30 classes.

By no means do I want Al to fail. Al does some things well like handling the media, but player development up to this point has been discouraging at best, and worse, it doesn't matter how much talent we have, our current defensive gameplan is garbage. Maybe the scheme works when coached and executed properly, but with the space I've seen this defense allow, it doesn't matter if we had the 01 team.

Al Golden is to blame for any recruiting misses, and lack of development on this team at certain positions, all of the players have been under him and his "program" long enough to see progress but their isnt any.

Duke gets better week to week, Miami doesnt.... smh

If you all think Miami is going to wait 4 more years to see what this upcoming class is going to look like to save us from mediocrity then ur mistaken.
