A shout out to Highsmith for two big special teams plays. He sniffed out the two point conversion and recovered the onside kick. I respect that he has always been a team player and happy he contributed in this big game.

He also had a shoe lace tackle on the RB that would have gone all the way if he didnt get to him... thank God.

For someone that has bashed this guy to ****, he definitely deserves some props for those plays.

The kid deserves much RESPECT! I'm glad he is a Cane...

PLAYER DEVELOPMENT

It's happened in all 3 years now of the Golden regime. Some underachiever/nondescript guy comes out of nowhere to make a big contribution. Golden knows how to teach the game of football and it only helps that guys like Gaines and Highsmith are really smart guys who can take what they are being taught and apply it on gameday.

The scary part is that guys like Allen Hurns, Highsmith, Gaines, and Kacy Rodgers aren't at the zenith of the athletic gene pool. What happens when he gets those same improvements out of athletic freaks like Stacy Coley or AQM or Chad Thomas or Darrion Owens or Figatron or Beau Sandland?

Championships is what happens

Watching the UF game again yesterday, we walked him up a lot.

I agree with this, he's pushing these kids to be the very best they can be, I love it.

Grew up with AJ. Its been hard to see him get ragged on here, but it felt great to see him play so well on Saturday.

The great thing is there are so many players to single out from Saturday, especially on the defensive side. And yes, Mr. Highsmith made two of the biggest plays - 2-pt conversion attempt by Muschump and on the on-side kick recovery. Great job!

It's really not fair to the kid.. He was recruited as a QB & was asked to make the switch over to S. Problem is our fanbase is used to seeing the Blades brothers, ST26, EReed, Antrel Rolle, Kenny Phillips, Meriwether, etc.. back there. There is a demand for greatness at the position. Look at Ray Ray. Before playing a snap at UM people were saying he was the next ST. That's just unfair.

As for AJ, I couldn't be more happy for the kid or his family. He is a Cane & will always have my support.

I would say he's pretty talented. Back-up quarterback to starting safety at the U. Not many people can do that. He's just not elite.

He was the first one there on the 2 pt conversion but I think the wr still gets into the endzone if not for Chick!

Go back and watch the play... What was impressive was how far Chick went to help prevent the 2 pts.
