Miami is still recruiting FSU commit Patrick Joyner as their top choice in the linebacker class. Through two games against Coral Gables and Southwest, Joyner is showing why the Canes are so high on him. He has recorded 13 tackles, 5 sacks, 6 TFL, and a forced fumble.

How big would a win in Tally be for these type of kids? Especially if we dominate on Defense.

It would be big but people overestimate these wins by themselves. If it was the deciding factor FSU would get every player we want.

You may be right. But it gives us a chance. I remember when Cook went to the Miami/FSU game in Tally in 2013. They killed us and I knew he was sold being there. The atmosphere was crazy.

Miami is in a very good spot to flip. I wouldn't be posting about him like this if there was not a real chance.

Okay, I'm all in. All I recall is him rushing the QB in his JR highlights. But he's all over the field this year, rushing, swimming through traffic, in coverage. Elite acceleration, speed and good instincts. He's 1A above the other options based on this tape.

I was really impressed seeing joyner in coverage at camp back in June. I don't make evaluations based of 7on7, but when something sticks out that a player did not necessarily show on film, that's what catches my attention. He looked really fluid out there and it seems like that's translating to the field. Knew he was a beast in pass rushing situations, but he looks like the total package.

Would love to hear you interview Joyner and Ivey on your Caneswear podcast after the FSU game.

Peter do you think Matthew Thomas is a good comparison for him? Certainly doesn't have the hype but he has the offers and like Thomas is very good as a pass rusher but may play more of a true LB spot in college. I still think FSU was foolish not to play Thomas on the edge btw, his first step was scary

But does a "real" chance translate to a likely flip? I mean less than 50/50 is a real chance but not a likely chance.

Not going to get my hopes up on this until I hear of some more realistic interest from Joyner.

I remember a recruiting cycle or two ago, Pete said he would never put percentages on a chance a recruit commits/signs with Miami. Kids are fickle and changing on what seems to be a weekly basis, for the most part.

Me either. I hear he always recruiting for the noles on twitter and talking them up.

He seems very pro FSU puke out there in the media, I hope your right. We need some studs at lb...
