Maybe this is a call out thread in the Eye in the Sky, but whats the deal with guys from South Florida taking forever to learn the game. Also when I see interviews with coaches a lot seem like the guy on the corner that loves football. Do these guys actually teach at the school? The high school I graduated from, every one of our football coaches was an employee of the school. I assumed that was the norm here in Georgia.

Thoughts?

The seem just fine at other schools. I might be wrong, but I dont think its an issue at all

The talent is there for sure, but it seems like the knowledge of the game isn't getting transferred as well compared to other schools in other areas.

In order to coach at a school down here, you have to work at the school in some capacity.

We got ******* ex-rappers coaching defense. Let that marinate for a minute. I'm going to fix myself another drink, the first 10 didn't do the job.

I will say that Luke actually knows his stuff... he is one of the better coaches down here if that even means anything

Has he ever coached football before?

honestly not sure, but I've had about 3 coaches down here tell me he is a legitimate good coach

Maybe he is, but you don't typically kick off a coaching career as a coordinator at an 6A school that typically ranks as one of the best in the country. I mean who were the other choices?

This isn't anything against Luke but rather against others like him.

Before coaching at MNW, he coached LBs at Miami Central. Before that, he used to coach the LBC Warriors optimist team.

LOL at OP grasping for reasons why we suck...SMDH

Hint:its the ***king coaches

Nothing weak about it. (my neg rep you gave me) Understandably so areas with less income pass coaches less money. I am trying to have a conversation about the knowledge of our players when we get them vs players out of other areas of the country. This isn't a race thing. I cheer for the Canes.

To go deeper into this have any other of our guys gotten better at Miami. Do our guys develop here?

I think this argument could take a different turn also. Why is our defensive scheme so difference that what these kids have played all their lives.

The problem is the coaching at Miami not at the high schools. You see Miami players excelling in the NFL after underwhelming at Miami. Good coaches get the most out of their talent. We seem to get less out of our talent that we should.

We are based in one of the most heavily recruited areas in the country. Other schools dont seem to worried about the coaching they are receiving.

I agree with the premise of this thread and is something I've mentioned before on scout.
The players we sign from South Florida are mostly devoid from basic football fundamentals that other kids from other areas arrive to college with.
Texas kids look they are well coached. KSU's roster is probably half Texas and those guys were as fundamentally sound as they come.
It takes a great staff to get South Florida kids to reach their full potential but that takes time.
Coker and Shannon couldn't. Let's hope Golden can. But right now it's still a work in progress.

So my next question is what does Miami do as far as clinics for South Florida coaches? I am from Atlanta so I really don't know.

its all about money!coaches in florida dont make **** compared to other states around the country you get what you pay for
