a lot of this is rehashed from posts I've made in the past, but a lot of people have been asking me about the situation lately and this is what I know at the moment...

If the choice was fully up to him, he'd be at Miami. He wants to be here and has a great relationship with the staff. Miami made him a priority early on. The problem is that his family really, really wants him to stay at LSU. His baby is a big factor in this and they want him to be there with the child. LSU has not been fully sold on him from the beginning for whatever reason, so that could help Miami out in a big way. As I've mentioned in a couple posts before, something that has concerned me is that he has had 3 visits planned to Miami before they were ultimately cancelled. He had one planned in the summer, one for Rising Senior Day, then one for the FSU game. The key will be getting him down here with his family. If the staff can get his family on board, he will be a Hurricane.

I have also reached out to Standish Dobard to see if he has been talking to him about Miami lately. I will post what he tells me when he responds.

Good looking out Pete. I say he stays home, and for our sake I hope the staff has been recruiting Al-quadin Muhammad just as hard and just as high a priority. that kid has the goods.

Muhammad is nasty, Notre Dame lean right now though.

I know, but Al has to IMO make this kid the priority OOS kid. Do you think they have recruited Williams harder than Muhammad or Williams has just been more receptive. Muhammad is a must get on a visit type of kid. No kid is a must get but there are certain kids you MUST at least get on your campus for a weekend and he is that type of kid.

They've recruited both hard, I just think Williams has been more receptive. For some reason, he has been loving Miami throughout the process.

Recruiting is hard to explain because sometimes a kid just doesn't have interest in a school no matter how hard a staff is going after him. Not saying that is the case with Muhammad, but some kids will not be swayed by coaches no matter what.

Also, a lot of people who still think Notre Dame is some awesome place probably also think Miami is a place for thugs and criminals. Not all, but could be part of it.

I know that, been through the process myself. In most instances though if the kid is still being recruited at this stage which I believe Muhammad to be by Miami, then there is a mutual interest. Most kids will be up front with a coach after spring or early in the season to let them know of no interest and not to waste their time. Speaking from my own experience I did this with FSU as I had absolutely no interest in being there, and I know a couple of my teammates did as well with several schools.

I guess my hope is we land this kid some how some way. He is the best DL I have seen and I watched highlights of Nkemdiche and his game against Central as well as Bosco's game against STA and #1's highlights. His raw ability his unmatched IMO and if AL can ever make a return to his state in recruiting, Muhammad is the guy for him to do it with.

SMH at this one, ND? I don't see how he fits into a 3/4 defense...too small to be a DE and they already have a log jam at OLB. If I'm Williams and/or Muhammad and I see our depth chart compared to LSU and ND this is a no brainier.

What about the kid from Indiana, Daniel? I know his commitment to Clemson is soft at best and he said the staff never stopped recruiting him.

Muhammad is a perfect fit as an OLB in ND's system and would play early. What am I missing?

Don't help recruit the kid to that piece of **** school. I think he would be a much better fit as a 4/3 DE. Thought the same thing when Ishaq Williams committed there.

I would really like to get some legit confirmation on Williams' size. Is he close to the listed 6'4 230 or closer to 6'3 210

He definitely has the frame/body to be a DE (strongside OR weakside), but he also has rare movement skills for his size. He can effortlessly drop into coverage which makes him a 3-4 DC's dream. He's similar to Matthew Thomas in terms of his varied skillset, massive upside and positional versatility. When you have a player like that you want them to contribute in as many ways as possible (see Adalius Thomas - Ravens).
