Oklahoma put it on them last year to the tune of 58-17. Should be interesting to see if we can emulate any of this in our gameplan this year.

I think Oklahomo had wee bit better offense than we did and slightly better defense than we do now. K.State can be had like GT if we get an early lead and make them one dimensional. But I think it will be us once again playing from behind and having to match score for score.

nice try though.

I didn't say we were Oklahoma or had their personnel, guys. I'm just saying that there are concepts that worked on both sides of the football, and if we can try to emulate those concepts, maybe it gives us a better chance to win.

For instance, look at how much misdirection OU used on offense. They had the speed and blocking advantage on the edge and used it tremendously. There were several plays short that set up bigger plays deep. I can also see Duke Johnson doing a lot of the things that Roy Finch did in that video.

On D, our guys have to time up their blitzes better and cover behind them better. If they can do that, we can get to Klein, which is the key to their whole offense.

But the premise is that we should run a similar gameplan. Maybe if we had the horses to do so. Especially on D. We are weak across the board IMO. Teams can take advanatage of use through the air and on the ground. Running QB's will kill us and we are facing the best in CFB.

Look at that town they are having the parade in. Looks like the town they filmed Animal House in, almost 35 years ago.

I said we should take concepts from what they did. Not all of them--just the ones that we can implement that would be helpful. If there's something OU did that we can't because of personnel--then don't do it. I'm fully aware of the slippery slope that would be for a coordinator.

It would probably be easier to take concepts from what OU did on Offense than what they did on Defense. The personnel and scheme we use is more similar offensively to OU than defensively.

I was at the game, it was anyones game at halftime (20-17 OU I believe), then KSU got behind and quit doing what they are bulit to do ,the floodgates opened after that.

They barely ever covered Finch out of the backfield there. I could see Duke doing some things there better than Finch.

Obviously, we don't have guys up front on defense like OU did there. That doesn't mean we can't learn anything from it.

I do think our OL can play as good if not better than OU's did there. I expect Duke to do his thing again but I'm looking for Mike James to have more of an impact than he did the 1st game. Not saying he is like Duke, but I want him to be a little ****ed and try to show everyone that he is pretty **** good in his own right.

With Seantrel making the trip, I really would love to see some unbalanced line stuff. Put Seantrel right next to Flowers and seal that side off. Or next to Bunche. Whichever is the long side of the field.

Another thing we need to be working on IMO is perfect the screen game with Duke. This kid will be deadly as **** on screens. Get creative. It will pay huge dividends IMO.

Kansas St. didn't turn it over and ran for 265.

If we can keep them under 200 yards rushing and force 2 turnovers we win by 14.

Their secondary is their weakness. They messageboard is even saying as much. We will be able to hurt them in the air but we have to establish a run game to keep them honest and not drop 8 into coverage!

But that is predicated on us not falling behind too much. Even weak secondaries can become somewhat good if they know they other team is gonna throw it 8 of of 10 plays.

True. I was just thinking that outside of GT, I can't recall the last time our D has been able to play downhill and tee off on the QB for the better part of the game. A nice lead can make an average unit seem formidable.

Our offense doesn't worry me one iota going into this game.

We just gotta make them kick field goals IMO.
