i agree. Mayes scared me. i think Redwine and Elder will be fine. We desperately need Malek Young to be a baller.

Common knowledge we need CB help. Problem is all the good ones got taken on NSD. Probably the same situation with Junior College CB's. JC Jackson an option, but 1. Staff may have been informed by admin or CMR himself, that because of the potential backlash they can't offer. 2. Just because we all want him doesn't mean JC wants to come or that they haven't offered. 3. May feel there aren't any good ones available, will rely on M. Young and 2017 to build depth.

No corner that's still available for the 2016 season is going to solve anything besides J.C. Jackson. And if the staff is truly uninterested in Jackson, then we're just going to have to get by with what we have, unfortunately.

With the new staff in place having a full year on the trail, there are no excuses for us not to land 3-4 premier CBs in the 2016 class. Keep Henderson and add 2-3 other blue-chip corners to immediately infuse much-needed talent and athleticism into our weakest position group.

Anything less than that, considering how our CB depth chart is going to look even worse once Corn graduates, would be nothing short of alarming.

If Finlay is as advertised Johnson can move to CB....along with Young the unit should be good enough to compete.....we all want JC... guess it's not going to happen...on the flip side...I can see the staff waiting for JC to clear before they make the big announcement.

There will be more scholarships freed up in the coming weeks.

Opinion or matter of fact?

Reasonable expectation. Theres dead weight at OL and LB. Smith, Mccray, King, Loftus, Jahair, Mahoney, Mayes all on the watch list. IMO at least 2-3 of these guys will be gone b4 the season starts. Happens with every new coaching regime.

Smith actually looked okay. We cant "cut" any Oline as we are so thin there that we might have to ask Fines to move to OG.

Suprised no one mentioned Langham as a guy who might need to rethink his options esp seeing that Richards, Bruce, Harris and Mullins are all coming to take someones job. Mullins was at the SG and looked like a grown man. He looks ready to play now.

Seems like the staff is going to ride with who they have at DB and JC is a pipe dream at best.

I just don't see Mahoney, Jahair or Loftus making the 2 deep by their 3rd or 4th year. Searls has said numerous times he's not going to rotate too much on the O Line so with that in mind we could get away with 12-13 OL on the roster this year if only 8-10 will actually see reps.

Langham will not make it to 2017 imo but they can't afford to get rid of him till next year.

I also forgot to add Fines to the list.

Im going to give Searles a chance to coach up theses young linemen, give them a chance to develop and see what becomes of them. I do have my concerns about Jahair ability. Seen him play at ASA in Brooklyn was not impressed and didn't think much of him.
I seen Mahoney play twice in Pa, and I felt he would need time to develop physically and Im glad Searles moved him to Guard. He was playing Tackle on both sides of the ball, but struggled with speed rushers, but mauled people on running plays.

jackson and henley will play over mayes. we need someone and hopefully malek is as good as advertised
