Like a lot of you on this board, I work surrounded by Nole and gator fans. This incessant argument about how dirty our program is has really gotten under my skin. My question is this...how many players from each school have been arrested over the last 10 years, 20 years? I keep arguing that our "bad boy" image came from our playing style during the JJ years. I don't remember a lot of our players being arrested under Jimmy's regime, they were just bad-*** dudes! Can any of you help me out?

Same except I work with an Arkansas fan, a VT fan, and a die hard Bama fan that's actually from Alabama. It's rough in the office. The Bama fan respects the canes though. He said "We have both enjoyed similar dynasties." and that " the SEC is overrated there are only 3 good teams US, LSU, and UF. The rest of the programs are irrelevant and will never play in the BCS national title. We are the main reason for the SEC streak."

But the VT and Arky fan always proceed to mention how dirty we are lol.

***** em.

if we going to brag about 5 rings, you are also repping the dirtiness of that era.

if you are talking about how few players have been arrested, you are repping the shannon era.

I like to use this little stat on delusional FUUF fans when they bring up the subject of Thug U........

"Since 2005 the Florida Gators have won 80 or so games...... That equals out to be 1 arrested player for every 2 wins in the last 8 years!!!"

Hello..... hello..... hello..... I can't hear you anymore......... Hello......

Just text your gaytor co-worker 'time to die'...they should be good with that. For your f$u fan friends...tell them wilder should be on the baseball team...he apparently gets 4 strikes.

And yeah, I agree with the dude he said ***** 'em. We could be squeaky clean for 20 years and we'd still be viewed as the thug program. I quit caring. Just win!

an interesting fact, 34% of the 2008 championship tea has been arrested. Most of the arrests of gator players are far worse than anything that happened with Miami as well. Chris Rainey threatening to kill his gf, guys firing ak47s, breaking into impound lots to get their gf's cars, using a dead woman's credit card etc. The list goes on. I believe the total number of arrests since Meyer took over are in the 40's (maybe higher?) Keep in mind, how many guys did not get arrested that could easily add to the number or the number of failed drug tests that were swept under the rug.

The difference is Miami's IMAGE as THUG U and the reality of Felony U and the Criminoles. It is not even close. We have had a couple players be VICTIMS of murder, while Gators actually commit murder. We liked the THUG U image, but it just wasn't true. Under JJ, I think his graduation rate was something like 70%. Ole St Bobby ran at about 18%. Heck even Howard was much lower than JJ. Thill danced in the tunnel and played shoot out, but I think he left THE U with a Master Degree not habitual offender record. More Noles got arrested for shoplifting in a week than Canes ever got booked. Some Cane got stopped with a gun in his car, heck I have three in mine right now. Difference, a Nole would have stolen the gun and a gator would have shot some one.
